Ok

I got a XEGS today at a thrift shop and it powers up. The screen is black when it powers up with or without a cord. It has the right power supply connected. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it cosmetically.

One member of AA has suggested that the display chip may be fried.

Is there any way for me to get it to work? Should I open it up and start cleaning it out? I've used alchol on the contacts of most cartridges and the cartridge port itself.

Let me know.

Y'know Kepone, my 600XL has the same problem. I reseated all the chips, but to no avail. But then again, I don't need to worry about that anymore since I now have an 800XL.

I've consulted with Gunstar and he will examine the XEGS..once I get the chance to send it to him.
