Every console out now seems to have a few LCD screens available for them. All are specifically made to work with just that console. (Except a couple I think which can be used on multiple consoles.)

Would it be possible to mod any of these to accept a normal A/V input (Red/White/Yellow three plug connector included with every console forever.) and normal Power?

I ask because I have a hack in mind.. or might have one in mind, I'm just trying to get options.

I'd like to have a nice LCD screen with normal resolution (Something that wouldn't look shitty if an NES were connected. As in no blur.) that didn't take too much power and was small enough to hack comfortably.

There really needs to be a general All Console Hardware forum. Not just that Atari one. Sorry if this belongs in Off-Topic or wherever.

My friend and I were thinking about hacking an NES to use one of those LCD screens. It would look d*mn cool, that's for sure.

I wonder if this would be possible with a 2600? Maybe even a 7800. A 5200 may be a little too big, but I can see it happening with the other two.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for your question.

I guess if the screen can be hacked to use the R/W/Y inputs and the console has that kind of output, it would be possible. I don't know if anyone made an Atari 2600 that can output that kind of "output".

Still looking for an answer.

It's strange, most of the LCD screens I've seen for "specific" consoles actually looked like the same three yellow/red/white jacks that are the video output of every modern console I own (up to and including GameCube). So basically I'd think that anything with those three plugs could go into it, even a DVD player (I think one advertised that as a use right on the box).

I thought many used custom fitted joints that plugged right into the back of the system?

In this case, which do y'all say would be the best? Keeping in mind, I want even an NES to look good. If possible.
