So sad the last R-Type....

I just got the import and this game rox! When it comes stateside...GET IT!

There is so slowdown, but its livable.

R-Type fans will not be dissapointed, so far I've found 30 ships, the "Albatross" being my favorite so far.

I didn't think that Delta was bad at all. It certainly looked pretty.

Final just came out in Japan for the ps2...US release is planned in a few months.

It looks plain beautiful, and quite frankly, I can't wait to buy it for myself.

R-Type Delta is really good. It's a very technically impressive PlayStation game, and it plays very well, too.

Unfortunately R-Type Delta doesn't seem to have been printed in large quantities. I still don't have a copy.

R-TYPE... TYPE-R?! ROROROR

RT has always been, and will forever be the poor cousin of the gleaming robot-beauty that is Gradius.

OMG! I actually find myself agreeing with Raijin!

:D

I never liked R-Type. Gimmie Gradius (or even RaiDen) any day of the week.

The only time I've actually cried in since 1990 was when I played Solar Assault (Gradius 3D, forward scrolling, 3rd person). I actually wept with joy, after being overcome with the glorious beauty of it.

I'll certainly be getting it when it comes out. I managed to get hold of Gradius III and IV on the PS2 yesterday, so I'm very happy. I'll DEFINITELY be getting Gradius V when it comes out, it looks fantastic.

R-Type II rocks.

I found an arcade machine with it around here and even mentioned it to Xot. Too bad they want like $250 for it and the cabinet's all beat up.

Agetec still has R-Type Delta for sale new at their web site for $30.

http://www.agetec.co.....=R-Type Delta

And R-Types (a compilation of R-Type and R-Type II) is also available new, for the same price.

I enjoy both the R-Type and Gradius series of games.

That's just delusional. You are having some sort of R-Type Final fantasy.

Have you bought from AgeTec before? Are they reliable?

I don't know how reliable their website service is, but they've published a number of quality titles in the US that otherwise would not have seen release here. Hell, I'm tempted to shell out the 100 bucks to buy everything in their shooter section.

Final Fantasy was only called Final Fantasy because it was going to be Square's last attempt at an NES game. Who knew it would have become so popular?

Dunno, I've been playing on normal. Gradius III is ABSOLUTELY rock, I can't get anywhere on it! Gradius IV is better and more enjoyable, I actually got to level 3 on that one.

I was never any good at these games to be honest, but I've loved them since I played Nemesis in an arcade in Whitley Bay when I was a lad....(rose tinted glasses on, scene fades out, violins start playing....).

No, I'm afraid I haven't dealt with them before. I bought my copies of R-Types and R-Type Delta from ebay sellers, IIRC. At the time, ebay was cheaper than Agetec.com. These days, though, you may have to wait for an auction to pop up for those titles.

I don't know about Shooter Space Shot and Starfighter Sanvein, but I can vouch for the two R-Type discs and the Strikers 1945 game (which, as you may know, is a port of the arcade and Saturn game Strikers 1945 II; it runs faster than the Saturn version, too). EDIT: The bad thing about the PS Strikers 1945 is that there is no tate mode. Well, it's bad if you wanted to play in tate mode, anyway.
