in another blowout, the Dreamcast/Saturn 3D tag team took out the classic NES pad

1 Playstation Dual Shock (1 & 2) - 6
16 Atari 5200 - 0

8 Nintendo Entertainment System - 1
9 Sega Saturn 3D pad / Sega Dreamcast (essentially the same design) - 12

5 Sega Genesis (six button)
12 Colecovision

4 Super Nintendo Entertainment System
13 Atari 7800

3 Atari 2600 (CX40)
14 Nintendo 64

6 Micorsoft X-Box (S-type)
11 Sega Master System

7 Nintendo Gamecube
10 Atari Jaguar

2 Sega Saturn (Japan Style 6 Button)
15 Intellivision

An interesting category, because both were backwards compatible w/ the Atari 2600 style port that the Atari computers, C=64, etc also used.

Of course, the Genesis pad was available long after the colecovision, so it's retrocompatability is greater appreciated.

Between that and the fact I never liked the "throw" feeling of the Colecovision mushroom, and it's pretty cool funky styling, the Genesis pad gets my nod, even though it pales in comparison to the SNES'.

I think I've already said somewhere that I feel that the Colecovision controller is the most worthless controller ever made for a videogame system.

Meanwhile, the Genesis 6 button is a decent control pad. It's not the best, but it works well.

So, the Genesis 6 button wins.

I like the three button better than the six, but against the colecovision the vote has to go to the six button.

i never was a fan of the genesis and never liked their first controller - i know this is the 6 button but i didnt like the grip on it - i voted for the coleco cuz i didnt mind the controller back then. I enjoyed that system :D Id still rather use a coleco controller than a genesis ;)

I grew up with the Coleco, and never thought the controller was all that bad. Maybe my hands deformed to fit it properly or something, I have no idea. The Genesis controller is nice, and I'm sure it'll win, but I'm going to go with the underdog here:

ColecoVision.

Genesis 6-button. A thing of beauty.

How can you vote for a controller that a young kid today might mistake for a cell phone?
