Here are two links to the sites for both games respectively:

River City Ransom

Double Dragon

http://pocket.ign.co...2/432722p1.html

I will be picking up a GBA soon! Yay! I want to play River City Ransom so bad that I'll pick one up! And it is also a good reason to pick up a GC so that it can be played on the Gameboy player peripheral or something.

Double Dragon doesn't look too bad. A bit more modern than what I expected.

Both are Sahhh-weet! :D

I already did a post about the Double Dragon, but nobody gave a damn. Guess we're the only two that care, huh?

It does look sweet, though. I'll definitely get a copy.

That's just sad.

Well I want a GBA now that I can buy RCR.

I kinda wish they had updated the graphics for RCR. Looks pretty much a clone of the NES original. Ah well.

If RCR only plays half as good as the original, it's worth getting.

I bet it will play just as good.

Remember, the GBA is supposed to be a portable version of the SNES, am I wrong?

Technically it's a 32-bit handheld, but I've seen it take advantage of the 16-bit genre mostly (although Iridion 3D does look like more than 16-bit. Ditto for Duke Nukem Advnace). Not that that's bad :) .

Duke Nukem Advance!

Is it any good?

Gimme more reasons to buy a GBA.

What about the GBA:SP? Worth it?

My brother has an SP. It's worth buying over the original simply because of the built in light, not to mention the screen folds in and is protected. It's smaller and even easier to keep in your pocket than the original.

As for Duke Nukem Advance, it's the best FPS for the system, and probably best game I've played on the GBA. The graphics are blocky up close, but that's to be expected, it really looks great, and the gameplay is just as good as it's console and PC counterparts. And yes, the humor remains intact.

Double Dragon looks pretty sweet, I'm a pretty big Double Dragon fan and hopefully this will get people interested in a new updated game for XBOX, PS2, or GC. I would totally get this game if only I had a GBA, I just like getting games for my NGP, well looks like its time to get one

There are new ones planned for the next-gen consoles. Let's just hope they're not tournamnet fighters.

double dragon looks like an arcade port

as for River City Ransom, i always like that Technos style of graphics with the gigantic bug eyes (Nintendo World Cup, RCR, Super Dodge Ball, etc)

They say the Double Dragon is based entirely on the arcade game but it's clearly not. That COULD be a good thing. I'd like to see the whole original arcade game in there. They captured the graphic style beatifully though.

And I'm still looking for the ultra-rare PSX version of Double Dragon...

Not really. It's supposed to follow it, but the graphics are much improved.

I don't know if a whole lot of info is available yet, but the company said they were planning them. I'll find the link in a minute.

Here we go:

http://www.classicga...n/ddadvance.htm

The vice president says they're planning it for home consoles, too, so that's good news.

Back in like 1995 or so, I had a first-gen PSX - you know, the one you could swap discs on to play copies and imports. I had the chance to purchase a bootleg PSX Double Dragon for $6. I don't remember why, now, but I never did get it and I've been kicking myself ever since. I've never even seen SCREENS of it.

But, I do have a (semi-functional) Double Dragon arcade game (and DD2 boards for it) so I suppose I'm better off than most when it comes to DD.

Lucky Son of a bi..er...gun :D . It's funny, I have the game for almost every system it was released for, but I haven't shelled out the money for some coin-op PCBs.

I've never seen screens of the PSX version either. I'm guessing it's a tournament fighter, but who knows, could be the real deal.

I was more of a lucky SOB when the monitor worked. Every night for about an entire year I would come home from work, switch it on, and go through the whole game. Then I got the DD2 PCBs and played that for a while but it didn't capture the same magic and I didn't go through it as often. I was installing new buttons in it when the monitor blew and I've never gotten around to reparing/replacing it.

The really odd thing is that if you just swap the boards out, the left/right attacks in DD2 are in the wrong positions - you have to reverse them at the controls.

I actually wouldn't care, I have a 10-Yard Fight machine missing the monitor that's cool to just stand at. Double Dragon would be even better.
