Note: I'm posting this under Modern Gaming since it's about a new console, even thou could be Classic Gaming related as well.

So, have you seen http://www.xgamestation.com? Maybe it's old news, but I've got to know about this upcoming console just today. What are your thoughts about it?

In a few words, it's a new 16 bit (somehow open?) console with a dev kit available to the public..

Just a small excerpt I've found in the Tech Specs page:

Graphics architecture similar to Commodore 64, Atari 800 and Apple II.

Humm.. AFAIK, the C64, A800 and AppleII had almost totally different graphical architectures! So which architecture is this new console similar to??
This is having me raise some doubts about the product..

Looks nifty, though. A new open system? Homebrew heaven. I might be able to devote enough attention to it to actually make something, if I don't burn through my settlement before it comes out.
