The original Saturn pad is the best all digital pad in the world!

Well that's what I think anyway....

The Intellivision controller is good for lowering the morale of your enemies. I especially enjoy the combo of the Intellivision controller with no overlays and a game of Poker and Blackjack. "Every single button on the controller except one will cause an annoying buzzer noise.. to remind you of how stupid you are for playing! Have fun!"

Vote for Saturn!

Huh, I never thought the NES was that crappy...I just thought the DC pad did more, and had the VMU.

Anyway, I never did use the Sega pad, though I'd imagine it would be pretty ok, and have always actively disliked that stupid disc (too hard to get it pointed exactly where I wanted) and those side buttons (super unergonomic and generally nerdy). The overlays were both a little cool and annoying to keep track of. So over all a vote for Sega.

i thought the xbox pad would beat SMS pad, as i said way back when i started this, the seeds are supposed to be a "preseason ranking", but i did adjust them so that you wouldn't have the same company face off against each other in the first round. Also the higher the seed, the bigger cupcake it faces in the first round.

im not voting, but i agree with LM, the saturn pad is the best digital controller ever made, which is why i gave it a high ranking. It doesnt really matter though, if a controller sucks, then it will be voted off eventually

I wasn't a big fan of the Intellivision controllers even when they first came out. In fact, when I first saw them demonstrated in the stores, I thought that you had to "rotate" the disc somehow, so I used to try playing the games by sweeping the disc in a circular motion. Obviously, that didn't work.

The Saturn pad is greatness. The Japanese design (which you picked) was better than the initial US design, which was pretty good except for the rather stiff triggers. Sega released two versions of the Japanese pad in the US--first, with the gray styling of the Japanese controller, and later in black to match the US system (this later became the pack-in controller).

The vote here easily goes to the Saturn.

No contest. The Sega Saturn pad is much much better than Intellivision's excuse for a controller.

So why is the Saturn pad so terrific? Just the general feel?
Is it just D-pad, 6 buttons, and shoulder triggers?

Also, I think you might as well not bother counting the Saturn 3D controller in with the DC...I mean, other systems don't get two entries, and the DC is different w/ its VMU...

Though I do prefer the later Saturn Pad (just for the look of the thing), this still has to win against the Intellivision. I mean, it's not even a controller - it's just a load of buttons and a disc on a spring. The other thing that got me about the INTV controller was that it (on the original model anyway) wasn't detachable and the cord was SO short. As bad a controller as a mobile phone is. Awful

The D-pad is very responsive due to the amount of "movement" it has.

The six button configuration matches arcade configurations and the button themselves are responsive and quick. If you need to rapidly tap, they will be ready for you, which is a problem I have with the GBA buttons.

The shoulder triggers, while not used much, are in a great position and sensitive enough that you don't need to think about pressing on them like newer analogue triggers.

I actually much prefer the US Saturn pad (with the pointy corners) to the Japanese version... but both of them are far better than the awful Intellivision controller. I actually really like the system, but the controllers are almost unusable (and this is coming from someone who likes the ColecoVision controllers!)

Saturn.

I've never tried INTV controllers, but from the sound of it, they're horrible. The Japanese Saturn controllers are much better (and I actually held one before).

Yeah, how many people have actually used this?

The import version of a controller for a system that pretty much bombed in this country? Depending on how it fairs vs. the 2600, there's a good chance it's going to end up in the final 2! And while I think it will lose to the SNES or DualShock (the likely winner from the other bracket) it's odd for such a lesser know stick to be poised to make it so far.

Pointy pad all the way :D I like how it fits my hands, although the sholder

The "US Saturn" controller was taken off the market after a short while and replaced with a US version of the Japanese controller. Lots of people have used it. Probably a lot more than the Jag anyway.
