Since I was in a racing mood yesterday, and didn't find what I wanted, I brought home what I did find. A TRU had few titles in the aisle, but a clerk went in the back and brought out a couple boxes. Found F355 for $14.90. More than what I've paid for new DC games lately (lowest being $4.99 at an FYE) but I figured it would be worth it. Sure is! Simply incredible.
Same day, went to a used CD shop and found a used copy of Vanishing Point. Looks brand new. $10 even. Tonight for the first time I placed first on the first track! Finally figuring out the controls. Too bad I didn't have a VMU plugged in!!!
Today, again went out for Speed Devils and thought I'd have it. I had seen a copy at a GameStop and even played it - further intensifying my desire for it - but didn't buy it cuz the disc was scuffed and the case was messed up. So I passed and went off looking for better, and found none. Went back to get it - GONE! They left it in the machine, someone else played it and bought it!!!
Was going to go for the scuffed one cuz I learned a used CD shop nearby resurfaces and buffs CDs for $2 each. Figured I'd do that. In anticipation of going, I brought along two other games I bought used long ago that were scratched but worked - Hydro Thunder and Silent Scope. Also took a bunch of CDs I don't listen to anymore to sell.
My two DC games cleaned up beautifully, and they bought seven of the CDs I took. They had a few used DC games, most notably NHL2K2 - which I've only seen new for $40-$50 - for only $3.99!!! Disc looks brand new. Also grabbed a couple clear CD cases to replace a couple I had that were banged up.
So, total price, for a near perfect complete copy of NHL2K2, getting two discs resurfaced and two empty jewel cases - 91 cents.
So, I'm happy...
