Has anyone played the latest in the Madden series - John Madden 2004?

This was a highly anticipated game and it seems like everyone already

owns it, and it's only been out a couple weeks. I personally stopped

playing the Madden games after Madden 93. After 93, in my opinion

the games went downhill (the gameplay). How does the new Madden

look, how's the game play? Anyone else like Madden 93 (for Genesis)?

I've always liked all the Madden games, 3do, Genny, Saturn, etc. Football is a fun 2-player video game. I didn't play any Maddens for two or three years because I switched to NFL2k on the Dreamcast :)

But I picked up Madden 2004 for the PC, it's a pretty fun game. Haven't had a chance to play online or versus anyone but there's some cool new audilble/playmaker changes that really let you fine tune your plays. It's a real easy game to pick up and enjoy if you've played them before.

If I hear some good reviews for it, I'm going to purchase a copy for the

PC, How's the game-play?

I think it's solid, easy to pick up but you can learn all one hundred different plays too. There's enough there for everyone.

Here's a few reviews:

And the best part of most PC games is you can try a demo for free :)

Have it on PS2. Looks nice, plays nice, commentary is still a bit dry, but oh well.

I was in the middle of doing a franchise in owner mode, then I got back into EQOA and purchased Soul Calibur 2, so I haven't played Madden in like two weeks. :ponder:

The game seems to be balanced decently. You can run to set up the pass, or vice versa. If you blitz too much, you will get burned. I've been playing on Pro, and the difficulty might be a tad easy for me.

The player models and stadiums are gorgeous. The coaches actually resemble their counterparts in real life. Mike Martz threw them a curve ball with his new 'do, but other than that, they're pretty right on.

This is another game I really, really like. It moves quite a bit faster than NCAA 2004, and it's definitely got a different feel than the college game -- which is nice because it sets the two apart. Still haven't gotten to the point where I can draft one of my classes from NCAA 2004 yet, but I'm hoping to make time for that soon.

Thats a silly reason for missing out on one of if not the best football game out there, the 2k series are great games but IMO (and many others too) its just not as deep as madden and the franchise mode is freakin awsome
