Ok. I'm looking at a FAQ to see how to get each hidden game. But when I see "Play so and so game x times", does that mean I have to PLAY it and die and get a game over 20 times, or do I have to load up the "cart" 20 times or what? What exactly counts as "Playing" a game?

Also, is "Comix Zone" actually in this disc? The code for it on the FAQ I'm looking at says how to get it, but I can't get it.

Nope. You just have to start (just load it) the game and exit it. Keep doing this until the "Saving Record" screen stops appears before you begin the game. Then you've played that particular game enough.

Comix Zone and The Ooze are only on the Japanese version. I have no idea why they were cut from the US release.

Likely because they didn't want to confuse us poor ignorant americans by including non-Sonic games.

Da Bastards!

I WANT MY COMIX ZONE!!!

Though, I'm a little confused about Ristar. What does it have to do with Sonic? I still haven't unlocked it yet. Just ran out of time.

I think Ristar was going to be the Genesis' mascot before Sonic was developed. Only as a rabbit instead of a star.

If I recall, it runs on the same game engine(it certainly LOOKS like it).

I just saw screenshots. They do look similar. I like Sonic better, though. Seems cooler.

Guess I better get unlocking. I only unlocked Sonic 3 and Knuckles so far. (Aside from Flicky which was available the second it saw my Sonic Adventure 2 game.)

I never liked Sonic, personally. Ristar's insanely fun, though.

Was Ristar a Genesis or a Master System game? By the shots I saw, it looked very limited in colors and much like it would be a Master game.

Ristar was a genesis game that came out near the end of the system's lifespan, kinda got lost in the shuffle. It DID, however, come out on the Game Gear as well, which is kinda like a souped up SMS.

Having played it, it's a very Genesis title.

But the graphics ARE rather cartoony.

Are we sure it's 20 times each game? I've been doing this for hours and have unlocked every game except Ristar. Which leaves only having to play the bottom 2 games 20 times to unlock this damn thing and it won't unlock! Why can't I view the damn totals? That would make it so much easier! :x

Edit: Argh. According to another site, I have to play the three Knuckles+Sonic 1,2,3 games and Flicky 30 times. Not 20. Ok. Hope that works. *sigh*

You know..

*sigh*

I've been at it for hours and I STILL HAVEN'T UNLOCKED THE GOD DAMN RISTAR!!!! :x

I'm starting to give up hope. That maybe, just maybe it's not there. All a hoax. A little trick on Jasoco. Make him hope, and dash his hope to pieces.

[Breaks something expensive]

Dammit! Damn you, SEGA!!!!!

No I acutally believe it's 50. It takes a good hour or so to unlock them. Just keep opening and saving each game until that little "Now Saving" screen stops appearing, then move onto the next.

I noticed that RISATR has that same screen as well. I haven't opened and closed that 50 times yet. Anyone know if there's something else to unlock that they aren't telling us?

i noticed that too, and i went ahead and finished it out, and nothing new happened, but there could be other things lurking on the disc that have yet to be discovered

Maybe some extra videos and stuff! OR, the Mother of all secret games, SONIC CD???!!! J/K. But would be nice. I hope there's a SMC2 which includes all the rest of the games. I never played Sonic CD and don't have a PC to try out the PC version. So I wanna see what all the hullabaloo is about.

Yeah, I keep missing out on some good deals on SCD's. But I'll get one some day. I just wanna make sure it's complete. I skipped on a Sonic CD on eBay recently because there's no manual. But the box is included. And since I had no SCD to use right now, I'll wait. But I'm anxious to try it out and see all the stuff I keep hearing about.

I finally unlocked Ristar a fewq days ago, and played it for a few minutes. It's really neat and unique. But I don't really like to boot up my Game Cube to play these old simple games. I already won Flicky off eBay and now I won Ristar!

$2.00 + SH. A total of $3.50! No box of course, but it doesn't matter. I can play it normally!

BTW. Anyone figure out why SMC still does the "Recording Log" screen for Ristar? I mean, wasn't the idea of the screens for when you were on your way to unlock Ristar? Is there something else in here? Should I keep going?
