Hi everyone.

I am considering getting Time Splitters 2 for the PS2. I heard it is a really good game and loads of fun. My question is regarding the fact that I have not yet played the first game, Time Splitters. Will I be able to follow the game or does Time Splitters 2 draw upon some facts from the first game that I might not understand not having played the first game?

Hope to hear from everyone soon :)

Forget the first game even existed. For it is shite.

Timesplitters 2 however is very good and there is absolutely no need for the first game that you should have forgotten about by now already. :D

I must admit that I only have it for Xbox, but I believe all versions are the same.

I got TS2 for the GameCube, and it was very good.

I then went back and got TS for PS2. Not shite per se, but less polished by far. Still, I enjoyed the missions, and it was cool to see where some of the deathmatch and challenge boards in TS2 came from...but the story in TS is well-nigh non-existent...TS2 has a tiny bit more of a story, but even it is just the shallowest excuse to make a great FPS that takes place over a bunch of different historical (and futurical) setting.

Get TS2. If youy really enjoy the missions a lot, consider getting TS for cheap, but don't get your expectations too high.

I've got it for the ps2 - and just picked up a copy for the xbox - so, if you're interested in doing a trade for it, I'm all for it!

I don't want to get into a big discussion here, but I don't think piracy discussion is really encouraged here.

Thanks, liquid...
And, kisrael, I absolutely appreciate your thoughts... I would never discuss such things openly... just a passing aside.

I have not played the original TimeSplitters, but I do have TimeSplitters 2 for the PS2 and have enjoyed it. I would say that experience and knowledge of events from the original game are not necessary.

Well I got the game last night. Only got to play it for a few minutes and I enjoyed it. I have some work to do this weekend so my time playing it will be a bit limited but hopefully I can find some time to play it a little more in depth. :)
