I picked this up and have been having a blast with it since. It's got Ms Pacman, Pole Position, Dig Dug and Galaga on it. :D It's a good thing I don't bring it to work with me, hehehe! For those of you hesitating to get it, don't! It's only 14.99 at Target and is lots of fun. I am also excited about Activision Anthology coming out, but that's a whole other story... :P

I have Namco for the GBA too. I play it or Game & Watch Gallery 4 on the train ride to work everyday. When the Activision Anthology comes out, I'll be playing that everyday. I haven't looked around but does anyone know if Midway Classics is available for GBA?

It is, but there's only Williams games on it.

The best part of all is that with a GB Player, it's a very cheap way to have all the Namco Museum titles you actually WANT on a GameCube without shelling out $30 for the full thing. :D

I'll give two thumbs up for this one! (Well, maybe a thumb and a half. They did kinda screw up Afterburner.) I need to keep on the lookout for the Konami collection.

I was told it was recalled, but they must have reissued it, as I've seen it in stock in 3 diffrent places recently.

If Wal-Mart has it, anyone should.

Yeah? Recalled for what reason? The stinky Afterburner port? Hmmm … that would suck if it’s true and they’re planning for a reissue. I got mine on release weekend.

EDIT - or, now that I think about it, were you talking about the Konami Collection?

My 2 cents on the collections I've played:

The Konami collection is one of the best GBA games, period.

The Midway Arcade hits collection is not -- the developer really ruined it. :x I would avoid it.

Sega Arcade Gallery was a pleasant surprise in terms of sound and graphics, even if Outrun isn't arcade-perfect. Don't confuse this with the Sega Smash Pack, which contains 3 random Genesis games (Golden Axe, Sonic Spinball, and Ecco the Dolphin). It's OK for what it is but not great.

I saw Namco Museum at Best Buy for $14.99 the other day, so maybe that's the new standard price? It's worth it if you haven't already bought those games in 57 other collections already.

The Atari Anniversary collection is also worth a look. Portable Tempest!

IMHO the greatest "classics collection" is Wario Ware. It would be great for someone to stick a bunch of Atari VCS moments together in rapid succession like this ... think a playable version of the Goldenshower video.

My GBA flash card currently contains PocketNES with a mess of classic ROMs like Mappy, Xevious, Dig-Dug, Pac-Man, Burgertime, Galaga, Defender II, Joust, Elevator Action, Gyruss, and others I'm probably forgetting. That's a nice alternative if you have some extra $$.

Activision Anthology will probably be very nice .. and I hope there will be a way to insert other ROM files! ;)

Dude, no. Don't buy it, I beg you! It's the worst classic collection on the Game Boy Advance. The control is hideous in Sinistar, and the already tiny screen is made even smaller with poorly placed status bars. The other games are almost as hopeless... the cool special effects in Robotron are hilariously awful in this translation.

Yah. Sinistar and Robotron were pretty bad.
Sinistar was EASILY the worst of the 4, featuring bad control, a very cramped viewing area, AND fucked-up sound(you can't even hear the voices if you aren't using headphones),

But personally, I liked Defender and Joust on it.

I thought Robotron on the Midway collection was a lot of fun. But I'm sure that if I were more familiar with the arcade version I would realize that all the fun I've had with the game on the Midway collection has been false, and that actually I haven't been having any fun because everyone else says it sucks.

Oh, I liked Joust, too, but Defender is sort of boring and Sinistar is just poor. I think that even if Sinistar had decent controls I'd still hate it, though, because I don't really like the original either.

I like all of the arcade collections, but I've had a surprising amount of fun with the Pac-Man Collection. I thought three versions of Pac-Man (and a puzzle game rip-off of Tetris) would get boring quickly, but it's a blast. I especially like Pac-Man Arrangement (great sound effects!).

Don't get me wrong, I LIKED the GBA Robotron, but it's just wrong without a second stick.

It's a good game on it's own, though.

I bought the Konami collection last week, but I really started digging into it today.

I'd never heard of Time Pilot before, but man is that game fun! It reminds me of the classic Sopwith freeware games on the PC. This collection would have been worth the price for me just for this game itself. But all the games (with the possible exception of Scramble) are great, which means I'm definitely leaning towards this collection as my favorite out of the bunch.

I picked up "Konami Arcade Advanced" last week at WalMart for $14 and change. It is a very nicely done collection. However, does anyone know why the music in Frogger was changed? It seems weird playing it without the same old tunes. :?

Bow to the Scramble! :D

Well.. ok maybe it's a sentimental thing, but I spent years imagining what was at the end of the game (I did read about it in "how to beat the videogames" books.. but I wanted to SEE it and never had the skills :P It ate me up so much I asked my Mom to buy me the handheld Scramble by Tomy thinking that it might answer the mystery

I dunno.. but I still love Scramble (and yes I can finish it now) ;)

By the way, don't forget if you enter in the Konami code at the start of the games in Konami collection, it will usually unlock something good :)

For a better GBA Defender and Joust, I'd recommend the GB:Color release. Both games play really well and the sound in defender is great.

I dunno, I just didn't find Scramble to be any fun. I can't imagine that if I ever played it in the arcades that I would have sunk more than one quarter into it.

What's the Konami code?
