Does anybody here own any / collect video game soundtracks?
Just wondered if there's anyone else out there who's ever bothered to go to all the trouble of getting (usually from Japan) music to their favourite video game.
If you have any, which ones?

I really only have one game soundtrack.

Michael "Z" Land - The Dig

I am still hoping that one of my local game stores will have the soundtrack to Space Channel 5 1 and 2 someday. But until then, I wait...hehe

I've heard good things about those - are they as good as everyone makes out?

My soundtracks:-

Xenogears (OST and Creid), FFIX, Ridge Racer 4, Phantasy Star Online, Silent Hill, Pokemon (the Japanese double CD of the actual gameboy music from Red and Blue, along with EVERY Pokemon cry - not one I play often:) )

I have a few video game soundtracks. Phantasy Star Online, Gunvalkyrie, Halo and Tempest 2000. I'm looking forward to the Iridion 2(GBA) soundtrack, which should be released here shortly. I used to have a few more video game music CD's for some Saturn and Dreamcast games, but they were sold along with my Dreamcast and Saturn collections when I sold those.

Yeah these are really good soundtracks IMO, sure not every song is awsome but most of them are and I think you would enjoy it

I only have the Tempest 2000 soundtrack from back when I bought the Jaguar CD... I also have a Mortal Kombat soundtrack, but I think it's from the movie rather than the game.

I've made a lot of punk mix CD's, and lots of the Tony Hawk music in on them... I wouldn't really call that a soundtrack though.

I have Chrono Trigger(alas, it's the 1-disk american soudn track, not hte original 4 disk one), Lunar: Silver Star Story(came with game), Lunar: Eternal Blue remix(came with game), and Super Robot Wars Alpha Gaiden(a random bout of demented fanboydom).

I'd LIKE Parasite Eve and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Adn yes, CT's music IS as good as you've heard.
Honestly, I consider it the single best reason to play the game.

Yeah I agree, I think this is one of the best game soundtracks, I got this soundtrack long before I got the game. I do love some of the songs in Shenmue 2 though. Are some of the songs in the normal soundtrack or is it on a Shenmue 2 soundtrack, Does anyone know??? I need to know. I also think the Metal Gear solid Soundtrack is great too (I love the end song - one of the best game songs I heard) and Star Ocean is good too. It actullya turns out I have more game soundtracks than I thought i will list later

I've got a few Final Fantasy ones released by Tokyo Pop here in the US but sadly for the most part they are few and far between to find and (because they are often imports) ridiculously expensive when you do. :(

My wife picked up the SC2 player's guide, and while it did come with some posters and artwork, there was no soundtrack. :(

Let's see...

I've got:

Banjo Kazooie
Biohazard 2
Donkey Kong 64
Justice High School
Killer Instinct
Mario Kart 64
Shenmue
(Juke Box)
Super Mario 64
Tempest 2000

and
"Play It Loud!" from Nintendo Power, which features tracks from Yoshi's Island, F-Zero, Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid & Star Fox.

Anyone getting Starsky & Hutch from Gotham Games? EB Games got in promotional vinyl soundtracks that supposedly are to go out with pre-orders.

Namco Classics Collection
Namco Classics Collection Remix
Taito Game Music (I have an unplayed spare copy of this if anyone wants to buy or trade!)
Konami Game Music Vol. 1
Tempest 2000
Dune 2000 <--- best. game. soundtrack. EVER.
Emperor: Battle For Dune
Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun
Command & Conquer: Renegade
...and a half dozen other discs burned from random tracks downloaded off of this file sharing service or that one, lots of Japanese stuff in there, and some really strange ones too.

In case you can't tell, I'm a big fan of Frank Klepacki's stuff from before Westwood was eaten by EA. He gave me a shout-out in the credits of his Morphscape solo album - poor guy evidently needs some more die-hard fans! :D

Wow, there's some REALLY varied stuff here - I had no idea some of these soundtracks had ever been released.
Mind, nothing would surprise me - I saw the DC Pen Pen Tri-icelon soundtrack once!

So, out of all these, which are the ones you listen to the most?
I personally can't get enough of the Ridge Racer 4 soundtrack and I've just got hold of the Burning Rangers OST that'll be getting a lot of play.

Hmm, just checked my list again and I completely forgot to list Xenosaga (I also have the CD-single from the same game) - awesome soundtrack. I want Panzer Dragoon Saga next - beautiful music in that.

I can not believe no one mentioned Jet Grind Radio or Jet Set Radio Future... the best game soundtracks ever! Jet Grind Radio even prompted me to get the Cold CD, which I've been listening to in my car. The only song I can't stand on JSRF is Birthday Cake.

I have the original MK2 Soundtrack CD that was offered right on the arcade game attract mode... I also have a Capcom 2-disc SF2 soundtrack that also includes some of UN Squadron (US Navy), Final Fight, Magic Sword and Chiki Chiki Boys.

I also have the Japanese Darkstalkers soundtrack CD (simply called Vampire). I also have tons of cd's full of video game MP3's. and copies of some other soundtrack discs like SF3, SOTN, FF3 and Secret of Mana.

Video game music in general is way underrated in the US.

You're telling me? Over in Japan those albums are best sellers, here they hardly even get recognized. It really sucks sometimes. I'd love to be able to get a soundtrack for Rockman Battle & Chase.

I have soundtracks from (for PC):

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (came with collector's edition)
Myst
Riven

Plus there are games that have the soundtrack right on the CD as audio tracks:
Outcast (excellent game if you find it)
Outlaws
Total Annihilation
Blood
probably some others...

I'd like to find others, like pretty much anything Jeremy Soule composed (Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, etc.)
