What's funny is when  was 17 I could not imagine 2 things...NOT going into arcades to play games and NOT playing my Atari 2600.  Well, fast forward a number of years and I still play my Atari but damn if I play arcade games.  I occassionally walk thru...but I reach for a quarter only if I spot some aging clasic hiding in the corner!
Pretty much my situation.

Any place I'm at with arcades is usually just fighters and racing games. 2 genres I'm not very fond of.
And if they have something worth playing it's probably in tragic disrepair(like a puzzle game that only displays shades of green, or a shooter that the stick only goes left).

The only arcades I see anymore are the ones either inside the movie theaters or next to ones. I used to remember as a kid that arcades seemed to be every other block but just like pinball machines, they have nearly disappeared from existence and now only something like Game Works or Dave and Busters remain.
