What kind of Radeon you got? If you have one of the newish ones then im a jealous guy :x ;)

All the cards on that chart are like, almost the dogs bollocks. 10FPS with the GeForce FX?? Thats absurd. I'm converted, Radeon all the way for me from now on, my credit card is allready shitting its pants in anticipation :D

I got a 9700 Pro about two weeks before I knew the 9800's were coming out. Thankfully, the 9800's are all that much better!

Half Life was one of the first FPS games with a plot that actually felt like part of the game. And, for me, Half Life (on the PC) was the first FPS since the original Doom that actually evoked any emotional response. The rundown industrial feel of the levels was perfect, right down to the stained floors and multiple coats of paint peeling off the walls. Add the smart, creepy monsters leaping out corners, great sound effects like the soldiers talking on their radios as they tracked you down, and the mysterious man with the briefcase and you've got a classic game.

Counterstrike and the other mods don't really hold my interest, though I can understand the appeal. When it comes to FPS games I have a slow deliberate style that doesn't fit real well with the pace those games encourage.

SPOILERS FOR HALFLIFE (highlight to read more easily)
Still playing through this...I liked the part where you star seeing anti-Freeman graffiti, and he overhears two soliders talking about how they hate him, and one of 'em says how Freeman killed all of his friends and now he wants revenge...
Pretty cool for this kind of game I thought.

Sound interesting Kisreal, and how spooky that you should make us aware of such a dark plot with your 666th post :o

Ive have Half-Life stored on my Hard Drive for years, and the starting part is good that I played it again and again from the start, because of the seriousness and humour.

But I can't finish it, im stuck at the part with this huge monster (I mean huge, which loads of arms knocking me all over the place.

God knows how far im from the ending but, really makes me mad.

The big monster at the end of the game is drawing power from some pilons on the side of the wall. You need to knock those out first (I think there were 3 of them). After that, you can concentrate your fire power on him.

Actually, I'm stuck in that room with all the conveyor belts. All the guides talk about something with tripmines, but I can't find 'em. I ride around 'til I can drop to the big funracey looking thing (after the one that actually has fire) that has two belts side by side (one going in one going out) but the right belt dead ends and the other one just brings me back to the start....
