I just did the video mod where you tie all the wires together, and it seems to work great! Is there any paticular reason why this one is inferior to the others? what benefits do you get with the other ones, such as the simple one using the 2 potentiometers?

Depends on your definition of "Great".
The mod on the VCSP site is one of the worst ones I have seen. The colours are washed out and the picture looks dull. The picture through RF is better IMHO. A better mod can be found in the 2600 FAQ or on my webpage.

If you wait.... (I know we have all been patiently waiting for 2-3 years now), hopefully Chris Wilkson will offer something "GREAT" soon :)

I never got the "tie all the wires together" mod to work. I think it depends partially on how forgiving your TV is. But it (and the VCSp) mods produce pretty unstable video.

I've got a comparison page showing some of the mods here. Once Chris starts selling his mod, I plan to re-do the whole page, including his mod, with uncompressed screen captures. But as for now, it still gives an idea of the differences in image quality.

FWIW, I use the VCSp mod and it works perfectly! In fact the colours are a bit _too_ bright in the last Junior I modded! Probably because I was forced to use a 10K Pot instead of a 1K Pot though.... I`m going to work out real values next so I don`t keep using up expensive pots!

ok, now I noticed it doesn't work on all video devices, the one I was using had fine tune adjustments for vhold and hpos. So which mod would you recomend for ease of construction, but works decent. I'm not looking for videophile quality here, just need to output to an LCD screen with AV inputs. Which would you guys recomend? (I've read the comparrison page, I just want some more input) By the way, its a heavy 6er.

Anyone have any good results with Ben's mod with a heavy 6?
