Nintendo currently have a pretty definite online policy - They're not bothered. They've actually ceased production of the modem adaptors.
Nintendo don't think that people will want to pay once for the game and then again for the privellige of playing online, they want it to be part of the initial package price.
This makes sense going with a company as big as AOL, if anyone can afford to host GC online games for free it's them.

I don't think either one of these companies are going to do well together.

I have to agree with MegaManFan....

You people ARE over-reacting. Not that I am a fan of AOL, but how is Mircosoft any better? There stuff sucks too. I am not to concerned about it. Besides, PC gaming is most likely to remain a gamers primary source for online gaming anyway. I have no inclination to go online with my Cube , Dreamcast or whatever.

Good thing you don't have any plans to go online with your cube or DC. I think you'd have problems with both. :D

ey I can play online with the computer and I don't do it, so I don't think I will be playing any online game in my PS/2 any time soon. I think Nintendo should concentrate more in the handheld part (GameBoy SP rocks)

heck I might be leaving for Afganistan in nov and the only thing I'm taking with me to pass the time it's my gameboy, i think i'm gonna get me one of those memory cards to put some Mp3s and the nes emulator (so bad there's no mame emu for the SP yet :()

Just my .02
