I really like the amount of really cool third party add-on's that have come out for the GBA. And since it's the GBA, it's even better. Like the Digital Camera I saw for it. When the GB Camera came out, you were limited to 4 shades of grey. (Puke green for some.) but now the Game Boy is BUILT for these cool things.

I'd like to see that Phone thingy come out here.

Anyone make a TV Tuner yet? Like the Game Gear used to have? Or some kind of video player that could accept SmartMedia cards and play MPEG's?

The closest I've seen is AV adapters so you can play GameCube games on your GBA(sort of).

This is great. Imagine if you get someone you don't want to talk to:-
"Huh? Who's that? I can't see you - damn GBA screen...TOO dark. Call me back at midday!"

Now, those are cool. Though, I'd like to have seen pics of it in action.

How does it tune each channel? Is it a dial or is it digital? It has the antenna. Can I plug Cable into it if I want? I notice it has the AV ports they mention. How fast would batteries be eaten on it? Sweeet.

Expensive, but sweet. :)

I haven't tried the perpetually delayed SP version, but I got the original GBA version for my niece for xmas last year. It took me a few hours and a lot of googling to figure out how to use the thing, and because we had to leave xmas night, I never got the chance to show her or her dad how to use it and as far as I know it's collecting dust now.

Basically, the tuner is totally controlled in software, and there's a button combination to get it to scan for channels, and then another button combination to flip up and down among the channels it found in the last scan. There's some degree of terse Engrish onrine herp but it does more harm than good.

Very, very nice picture once you do get it working, though, and pulled in a few marginal channels I didn't think I'd be able to get with the rabbit ears. If you're not intending it as a gift for someone non-technical, I'd recommend it, especially if the SP version ever appears and is a little more hardware-enabled or better documented.

I guess there's some irony in using one of those TV Tuners to plug an SNES into your GameBoy to play SNES games on the Game Boy. :D

If only Rabbit Ears were more of a refined science. I think it would be awesome if you could have Wireless Cable TV. Think about it. It'd be a much nicer choice than the crappy channels you get with UHF and VHF. I want Nick at Nite and Food Network on my Game Boy!!! ;)

Something to look into, I guess. Down the road.

My favorite test was someone that hooked an XBox into one to prove once and for all that the GBA WAS capable of playing Dead or Alive 3.
