Oh my god, I was just looking through the screen shots for ESPN NHL Hockey over at Gamespot, and I can't believe how amazing this game looks... Not only that, but it finally has some of the options I've been wishing for in a hockey game... such as heritage jerseys (and heritage teams I've heard... although I can't tell if they're in there or not), old-school goalie masks, and even the ability to play outdoors (!!!). Finally, a company has done hockey justice. Screw EA. For crying out loud, there's even a game room where you can play air hockey! How cool is that?

My only complaint is that the helmets (and even the old-school goalie masks) are still far too shiny. I don't know why they keep doing that to hockey games. Man, this game alone might convince me to break down and get a PS2 or XBox... I wish Sega hadn't stopped making these for the Gamecube :(

this years sega/espn lineup is TOP OF THE LINE. I am going to have to go donate plasma but I am going to go get NHL asap. Just last week I threw down 50 for NFL football and it has to be the best football game ever. This is the first time ive payed full price for a game in ages and it was worth it. Time to go drink alot of fluids because I NEED this hockey game. Such sweet hockey goodness. :D

(ps in the NFL game the gameroom lets you play paper football)

We'll be playing this after our game this year,Jag!

I'll be the one playing in those ugly retro Canuck jerseys.....You know....The winning team!!!!!!!!! :D

Bad joke of the day:

Did you hear about the last Islanders/Canucks game?

Being relatively young, but good. The Canucks were up 3-0 at the end of the second. Also being the pot capital of Canada, the canuckleheads were fairly stoned. With that in mind, and reefer in hand. The poor young Canucks forgot all about the third period, and went back to their hotel....The final score was 3-3.

Well this gmae is killer but it could be VERY bad thing for me. I was in EB with chicky yesterday and got "zoned" after just picking up the controller and about 5 minutes later chicky told me that she would be in another store waiting. So this may not be a good thing for a newlywed guy

I love the over-the-shoulder camera angle, I felt like I was transported back in time and was playin the NHL series on my trusty SNES. AHHH the good ol days
