I just read an anouncement concerning the release of a classic Mega
Man collection for GameCube and PS2. It contains MM 1-8, and the two japan only arcade games, The Power Battles, and The Power Fighters. This is very cool in my opinion. Next feburary is the set time of arival

That's really cool news.

Though I'm gonna miss PC emulators' save anywhere features...
(especially in MM1 -- what a bear!)

I wonder if there's any chance they'll do a "Super Mario All Stars" treatment, or if it's pure 8bit goodness...

I remember reading that they're updating some of the music tracks!

I am SOOO buying this game regardless. :D

Actually Power Battle DID make it to the US, just in a limited release.

Anyways, I got real excited about this release before I realized I already own Megaman 1-6 and Megaman 8, and I don't CARE about Power Battle and Power Fighter. So there's really only one game on the disk I care to have.

Chalk me up to GETTING THIS GAME, just for the ports of the arcade games. I already have the other 8....

Maybe they'll have the Saturn version of 8 on there. That would be cool.

i guess i should say, japanESE only. Since it was never translated to my knowledge. Even though i own 1-6, and 8, i will sure as heck be getting this! and to think, they did the same thing on PS1 in japan a few years ago, but all seperate. good i didn`t import them

BOTH games were translated.

Funny thing is regardless of actual release status, ALL CPS2 games are translated, because they contain english, japanese, and european versions in one cart.
the only exception to this I know of is Powered Gear/Armored Warriors, where Powered Gear(the japanese version) has only the japanese version , and Armored Warriors has only the english version.

Anyways, Power Battle was released in the US, and Power Fighter was released in Europe.

MMS is not that hard to find for some reason. I got it on eBay for $15 and once in a while I see it locally at game shops for about the same price (I got a pseudo-box with mine though).

Anyway, I own every game, and I +still+ want this comp. I feel the same way about it that I do the Sonic Mega Collection. :D

The only time I've seen the arcade games in an arcade they were in english.

Anyways, doesn't really matter.
They were never very common, and may as well have never had a US release.

The Power Battles have appeared in a "multicade" that's being sold to a lot of arcades now, it has about 50 different licensed arcade games and I think most of them are from Capcom - I know from personal experience of having played it at the Family Fun Center here in Omaha. :D

Those multicade things are licensed? Man, I figured it was just a pirate looking to make a quick buck. Of course, it doesn't help my suspicions that I've only seen it in one arcade in the city.

I could always take the digi-cam to the arcade and take photos of it, but it looked pretty official to me. Nothing shoddy - a nice full cab (larger than a normal one in fact, with space for multiple controls) with artwork and a company logo for who manufactured it. Looked pretty expensive, and I think it took two tokens to start a game as opposed to one (although you got an additional credit for each one in after that).

That's very configurable, and proves nothing.
And 2 to start, 1 to continue is a rather common setting.

Anyone know anything about the Rockman games for the Jphone in Japan? You can see a couple of screenshots here amongst the rest http://tinyurl.com/nymo. How come the Japs get all the good stuff.. my cell phone only plays "snake"
