playing around with some new xbox games today, ive come to a realization that perhaps the industry's goal or higher and higher degrees of realism has taken a wrong turn near Chris++'s house. the standard of 60fps on 3D video games is beyond what television broadcasts (for the time being). This is true most true with sports games, when im watching a game, everything isnt super fluid, there is a lot of jerkiness, and camera angles are limited. I have to admit that seeing too much of the 60fps and constantly moving camera induces slight motion sickness in me. when i first saw it with NFL2K on the dreamcast demo kiosk years ago, it was stunning, but i rarely play games in that mode for hours on end. in fact, the last game i put heavy heavy time into was Phantasy Star Online, which only ran at 30.
does anyone else feel that way? or do i need treatment?
