Just an observation. On every Nintendo licensed product there is a part code.

For each system they start with a different three letter code.

The NES is quite simply "NES". Self explanatory.

The Super NES is "SNS". For "Super Nintendo System".

The N64 is "NUS". For get this, "Nintendo Ultra Sixty-four". Get it? The code name for the N64 was "Ultra 64".

Now, it gets interesting. The GameCube is "DOL". Anyone wanna wager a guess as to what THAT stands for? "Dolphin" was the GCN's codename. It's pretty cool they keep the codes like that.

Gameboy Advance is "AGB". For "Advanced Game Boy".

Gameboy carts (Pre-Advanced atleast) are "DMG" and I guess the original Gameboy is too. WHere that came from is beyond me.

If you look on a cartridge, it's usually on the label. Funny thing is not all games have it. Even some Nintendo branded ones.

On a disc, it's on the case label and the disc itself.

On systems, it's on the bottom. Controllers, it's usually on the back/bottom too.

Hardware also gets a number. Probably the order in which they're created.

NES is "NES-001"
NES Controllers are "NES-004"
NES Advantage is "NES-017"

SNES is "SNS-001"
Controller is "SNS-005"
Game Paks are "SNS-006"
Super Gameboy is "SNS-027"

N64 is "NUS-001"
Controller is "NUS-005"

GameCube is "DOL-001"
Controller is "DOL-003"
Game Cases are "DOL-007" (Even the GBP case from Japan)
Game Discs are "DOL-006"
Memory cards are "DOL-007" (The 59 version)

Gameboy Player is "DOL-017"
Gameboy Advance is "AGB-001"

Apparently some older Carts didn't get numbers. At least not printed on them.

There's probably a ton more numbers, but this is enough for now.

Anyone know the codes for the NES 2 and SNES 2? And Game Boy Color, Pocket, SP...
