While hunting at a flea market yesterday, I found the following for a total of $40:

31 boxed NES games
26 are complete
5 are in box

8 Loose NES games
1 with instructions

Highlights include:

Castlevania (boxed)
River City Ransom (complete)
Final Fantasy (complete)
Dragon Spirit (complete)
Blaster Master (complete)
Fester's Quest (complete)
Ice Hockey (complete)
Mega Man 4 (complete)
Ghostbusters II (loose)
Alien 3 (loose w/th instructions)

Several other doubles of games I own

2 NES systems (untested)
1 set of Acclaim wireless controllers

Several books on game strategies

Gamemaster Complete Video Game Guide 1995 by Jeff Rovin
Gamemaster Conquering Super NES Games by Jeff Rovin
How to Win at Nintendo Games #3 by Jeff Rovin
How to Win at Nintendo Games #4 by Jeff Rovin
The Ultimate Strategy Guide to Super Mario Bros by Richard Krissel

As I said, the lot originally was priced at $75 but I talked the vendor down to $40. A lot of the games came from video stores in Northern Vermont. A lot of them are in qreat shape too!

The PERFECT birthday present ever! :)

DAMN!! Nice Haul! If the Mega Man 4 is complete, that's worth the $40 right there.

No shit?

Cha-ching! LOL.

I'm not sure what to do with the majority of what I picked up. I'm a bit in over my head with games right now so I need to concentrate more on classes before I devote time to trading/selling and so forth.

River City Ransom sold for over $50 the last time I saw it complete on EBay. I'm not going to sell it but rather just sell my loose version instead.

Mega Man 4 is indeed complete.

I dunno. It's the best NES find I've ever had and I probably won't find another lot like it ever again.

I expect the NES to hopefully go up in value someday. Right now, most of the games are not yet rare. This could change over time.

That is why I'm getting what I can NOW so that when that day ever comes..I'll be ready. :D

Yeah, I paid $15 for a LOOSE one about ten years ago. That's always been the hardest one to find IMO... I think Game Stop sells a loose one for $29.99.

Wizards & Warriors 3 is right up there in rarity, too... although the game truly, truly sucks. That was one hell of a haul. You could make probably triple your money back if you eBay'ed it all. But there are some awesome games there, so I would reccomend holding on to them.

:D

Huge Ass is just part of the local slang around here.

I'm going to the HUGE ASS store, mum.

Look at the HUGE ASS on that cow

I can make money back on Final Fantasy and River City Ransom for sure. However, I'm not going to sell either for now. There aren't many boxed Mega Man 4 carts on EBay so I could make quite a bit off that too but I won't do anything for now.

Someone wants to buy all my NES loose carts but there's no way I'm letting them have River City Ransom in a lot. I paid like close to $15 for it. I want to see if I can fetch something close to that.

Yes, I'm getting greedier. Sadly.

Shit man. Damn!

I have GOT to find myself some good places to shop.

At least I found that new unknown about Game Stop close by. But still, their prices on some of the things are too high.

$40? Grrrr...

BTW. How exactly do you talk someone down to half price? In case I ever find myself in your shoes.

Arrr Nice find.... Outside of a certain used video game store which I will not tell anyone what their name is I never really ever find much.....though I do once in a while find something interesting in the local thrifts....

Now.....if you found a huge ass.....say um.. sitting on this stuff.....how would you have bought it?

It's very simple.

The games were all scattered on the table.

I showed up with only $20 in my pocket. I just BARELY stumbled upon the table. I told the woman "Too bad the box says $75 for all cuz I only got a $20 and I want to buy 'em all". The woman says that she'll let all the NES games go for $40 and throw in 2 systems and the books as well. I say "sure" and I run off to an ATM a few blocks away. I don't think they thought that I was going to come right back. I did anyway and I nearly broke my back trying to get the box to my car. But once I did, it was all worth the effort. :D

Nintendo Penguin, if I can get a digital camera or a scanner someday, I can make scans of the labels and boxes. I dunno for now.

I can easily sell Final Fantasy on EBay for over $50...it has gone that high..but I think I'll hold onto it instead.

Yes, it was a good find. It just happened to be a flea market in the park with several vendors. And it's a MUCH BETTER deal than another flea market where the woman wanted $5 for each loose NES game.

I could have bought games separately for $2 each but the whole lot just looked too tempting to turn down.

I think I shall be ill. I gave my Final Fantasy and River City Ransom to a friend, strictly out of friendship. Asinine profiteering ruins everyone else's chances at finding GOOD games on the cheap. Who the fuck cares about classic gaming when the only games worth playing cost more than NEW games?

Blaster Master is one good game  . I've River City Ransom loose at home (a friend brought it over to my house, forgot it there, and went back to Nova Scotia without it ;) ) That was 13 years ago! Also have a couple of loose Final Fantasy games. (Didn't realize they were so desired).

Not sure what or who you're referring to. I don't plan to sell anything right off it ever.

Some people like classic games so much, that they'll pay anything. Just ask the guy that paid $70 for my CIB Threshold a few months ago.
