This is kinda old news, but my 600XL doesn't work. When I turn it on, all I get is a blank screen with a buzzing noise. I tried using my 800XL's hookups 2 months ago, But I still got a blank screen. I believe that the ROM chip that contains the 600's OS is dead, but I could be wrong. Oh, BTW, the RF modulator works, in case you want to know if the RF modulator is dead/dying.

Didn't I sell you that 600XL or was it the 800XL? If its just a chip that can be replaced (socketed) you might luck out with someone with a spare, or someone who can burn one, or even Best might have some chips. otherwise your best bet might be to buy another console, without hookups even would go for cheap on ebay. Then you'd have spare part for the future. ;)

You gave me the 800XL. I remember the look on my face when I saw that big package at my door a few DAYS after the auction ended. :)

Not sure what leads you to this conclusion, a fault in pretty much any chip in the system could cause similar problems. First thing I would try is to remove and re-seat all the socketed chips. This will very often fix problems of this sort.

Dan

I re-seated all of the socketed chips, but it still won't do anything.
