Ok, I have a little money. I was wondering which system to get, a 7800 or a nes. I want it for mainly games, but collecting as well. I dont really care about graphics or sound, just gameplay. A person has offered me a
7800 with:
original packaging
Asteroids Hat Trick
Ballblazer Mario Bros.
Barnyard Blaster Meltdown
Centipede Ms. Pac Man
Choplifter Pete Rose Baseball
Crack'ed Pole Position 2
Crossbow Realsports Baseball
Donkey Kong Robotron 2084
Donkey Kong Jr. Touchdown Football
Double Dragon Tower Toppler
Galaga Xevious
for $75
So which one should I get, a 7800 or nes?
Thanks for the help,
VANMAN

Get the 7800. Even though I'm no fan of the system. NES's are a dime a dozen, I've even seen them in trashcans (never taken any though, but thats how I scored my Legend of Zelda cart) where I've only ever seen a 7800 at 4jays.
Don't even bother with a Master System, just get an old Genesis, and get the Master System adaptor for it. |

I'd rather not do that, because I've heard some games are incompatible on the PBC. It's the other way around, really. You'll get more compatibility with the Power Base Converter than you will with an actual Master System console. This includes many foreign releases that are supposedly incompatible with US systems. In fact I've yet to get a game, US or foreign, that hasn't played on my PBC. I'm getting a nice collection of foreign releases, too! (PS – Not really meaning to be a nit-picker here but aren’t picture sigs generally frowned upon on AA?) |

I have "Ms Pac-Man", "Crash Dummies", and "California Games II", all of which Andrew Kreig's list says won't play on a US system and all of which work fine on my PBC. Flash, do you have any of those and if so do they work on your regular SMS? |

I’m thinking that Andrew’s list isn’t quite as accurate as I once took it to be. Perhaps I should take a stab at some Codemasters titles after all (i.e. – Micro Machines). |
