No way... it's still Infogrames, just without the dumbass name.

Infogrames. Our games are as lame as our name.™

I still curse them for hijacking the Atari name.

Infogrames has made some bad label Atari games, and some good label Atari games. You could do much worse than titles like Stuntman and Godzilla.

Not to mention Neverwinter Nights. Splashdown was okay, too. I dunno. I don't think they're doing any better or worse with the Atari name than they did with Infogrames -- they're just using the Atari recognition to help sell their games.

Oh. And they gave the Fuji a bellbottom. Those bastards!

I consider them the "real" Atari. After all, Atari has changed hands so many times through the years that anything after Bushnell sold it could theoretically be considered bunk.

I prefer to be optimistic in this... besides, it's nice to see Atari written on new games for a change.

Yeah its Atari, they are the legitmate owners of the name. I'd like to see
some new Atari brand arcade games. I strongly associate arcade games
with Atari, home games less so.

So far Infogrames has a better track record than the "real" Atari from 1977-84. Face it, Atari put out a lot of crap during that time period.

Huh? Is Civ3 good? I've gone through my addiction phase for Civilization
1, 2 and Alpha Centauri, but Civilization 3 doesn't seem to have "it." What
am I missing?

Infogrames Foxxed Bid for Power so they could continue to release their shitty DBZ games, and people wouldn't have something GOOD to compare them to. Bah! Fuck those bastards. With a broken whiskey bottle!

I thought Civ3 was great when I had it I was hooked. It really is
a revision of Civ2, some rule tweaks and improved graphics. It
shares a lot of the flaws of the other two. The biggest one for me
is how boring the end game gets.

They are the real atari, but I couldn't work for them I know nothing of programming and enough about atari I'd probably just piss people off LOL.

I do hope this is a good thing for atari, maybe they'll stick around for awhile this time instead of trading hands a few dozen more times.

As for them making new games, didn't Hasbro sell off most of Atari's properties instead of using them? Infogrames may not be able to do the old atari games anymore.

We rescue the French in two world wars...and now they come and take the Atari name to mask a two-bit company that makes shoddy games? I'll never forgive them for this.

If I could get myself a job there, I would. It would be nice to be part of Atari even if it is a pale imitation of the original. I could say to people that I worked at Atari at one point in my life.

I hope that they do well. My greatest dread is that they will do too well and then Microsoft buys them out. At that point, I think Atari would be dead for all time.

Microsoft does not have the guts to buyout atari, they have the money to do that but not the guts.

All I said that Microsoft does not have the guts to buy atari, I did not say that it might not be a good idea.

Microsoft needs to buy out AOL and die. Other than that, there are no benefits to them buying out anyone.

There is a division of Atari/Inforgrames hiring in Newport Beach, CA. There were hiring testers a little while back... I did not apply..

1. I was employed by Atlus
2. I hate inforgromes.

Damn French. :D Truthfully... I have not forgiven them for disposing of Accolade, whom I loved.
