I've been trying to install and load everything from the DASM for 2600 programming and BLL for Lynx programming and nothing runs under Windows XP!

The stupid DOS window pops up for like 2 seconds and then just disappears. I tried opening the various files via XP's "RUN" and cmd.exe function, but I must be doing something wrong there too.

Can ANYONE please help me? Please don't tell me that I have to install Win98 or some other legacy OS... :(

DASM and Z26 run fine under XP. Most people set up DASM to run from their text editor and have the text editor capture the output. I use Crimson Editor (http://crimsoneditor.com/).

Actually, I think I just figured it out...I'm using CrimsonEdit and just needed to tweak my DOS paths! I compiled my first test app and it worked!! :D

Pardon my newbie-esque questions...it's been awhile since I've used pure DOS for anything! ;)

For the record, I used the "clock003" test app as my initial test. It works just fine!

I'm having the same problem with Windows 7 but I don't understand the solutions as stated in your replies. I have Crimson, but how do I get it to run DASM and capture the output.
Help help! I'm being repressed!!!
