Do you spend more than 20 hours a week cruising through flea markets "Chasing the Chuckwagon?" Do you think that Ms Pac-Man has got it all over Lara Croft? Can you get to level 8-1 in Super Mario Brothers without losing a life? Think that Final Fantasy died after the 16-bit era? Do you know what a Yar is? If so, then you need to be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the East Coast Gaming Expo!

Spanning two days in February 2004 is the East Coast Gaming Expo (www.ecgx.com), bringing collectors from all over the United States and
abroad together at the beautiful Adam's Mark Hotel for a weekend of celebrating our video game heritage! Video game playing and collecting
veterans Chuck Whitby and Adam Harvey have come together to make February 13th and 14th THE weekend to be in the city of brotherly love, showing off everyone's love of gaming.

ECGX will feature 16,000 square feet of events such as tournaments, game sales, trading, contests, and of course plenty of game systems set up to play your favorite games of yore! Check out all the latest info at www.ecgx.com, and be sure to talk with your fellow gamers in our discussion forums! Be there or be the hero from Adventure!

I think it's a different show. But why oh why have the dates so close to each other? Would be cool to have one in the fall and one in the spring.

Or maybe.... a different location would have been nice! :| It's a lot of driving for one day for me to get to Philly for either of those shows. :(

Yeah, I felt the same way with this year's AGE/CGE date-collision snafu. But, just as we were all assured that it was merely the only dates available to the new show, I'm certain that this new Philly show is also merely a victim of "what was available" as well.

You are correct sir. 8*) It's a matter of having our attendees pay $15 for weekend tickets and $35 for tables in February, or making the attendees pay $30 for weekend tickets and $70 for tables in the summer. Not to mention hotel room rates are cheaper this time of year. We'd rather save you guys some bucks.

So what more can you tell us about the show - how will it be different from PhillyClassic? Any notable guests, surprises, homebrew releases to look forward to?

Two new Intellivision games will be available for demo at the ECGX.

Arnauld Chevallier is considered to be one of the best modern day Intellivision programmers. His newest masterpieces, Stonix and Castle will be on full display durning the East Coast Gaming Expo.

Stonix, a Breakout/Arkanoid style game, places the player in control of the paddle at the bottom of the screen. The objective is to distroy all the blocks on the screen while not losing your ball. Power-ups will fall from random blocks to help you complete your task with ease.

Castle, a 3rd person adventure game, places you in a medieval castle, searching for your lost girlfriend. Search the castle for the pieces of the puzzle to find your lost love.

A playable demo of Stonix is currently available online to download, and a non-playable demo of Castle is also available. Be sure to check them out!

These are just a small selection of games available to play at the first East Coast Gaming Expo. Be there, or be the hero from Adventure!
