I am making a website consisting of reviews for classic games. It will have Atari, Nintendo, Sega, Colecovision, Intellivision and more. I am in need of others to help me write reviews for classic games (as I would like this to be a work of the entire classic gaming community). I need feedback on how many people would be interested in writing reviews. If there is interest in the community, I want to have a contest with this. Maybe anyone who writes a review will be placed in a drawing for a prize (will be worth at least $100). Please let me know if there is interested community members that would like to participate in this. I feel that a site that has all classic games reviewed would be a help to all newbies who are considering classic gaming as a hobby.
Thanks

They dont have to be really long. Maybe a short description of the game, a little how to play, hidden features...etc. I would also like included a rating for graphics, gameplay, sound, and overall. The ratings are a 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 being excellent. :D

All credit for the review will be given the the writer also. You can have your name or handle put with it.

Count me, just give us the list of the games you would like reviewed. ;)

Ill only review the ones ive played to death though, has it terrible reading reviews of classic games from the author who only played the game for 10 minutes. :ponder:

The reviews can be of any game you choose from Intellivision, Colecovision, Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, Jaguar, Lynx, Nintendo NES, SNES, Gameboy, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Famicon, Vectrex, or other Early game systems. If some people make a review of the same game all reviews will be listed with an average review score given.
Thanks

All the pages are ready, just need the info to put in them. The domain name will be ready in a couple of days.

Good luck with your website. It's incredibly difficult to get reviewers that stay interested, as I've found with my own website, Retro-Active Reviews. Still, I should have quite a lot of new content up there soon, one way or another.

I would volunteer because I love writing reviews, but I've got my hands full with other writing just now!

I should have the website up and running in a day or two. I would really like to see a great community effort. Like stated earlier, you can review any classic game you wish. I will post when the website is up...at first it will be very basic but I hope it wont take long to be a great reference site.
Thanks

For shits and giggles, I've been thinking about doing 16-bit sports games reviews. I'll wait to see where this goes first before committing, if you don't mind.

The site is up. Like I said it is pretty barren right now...need reviews. :D
I have only put one review in so far...but I have only been assembling this site for a few days...so a lot more to come.

Pretty good so far, but you're right. It seems a bit barren at the moment.
Still...Keep at it!! Every new classic videogame site is like a new ray of sunshine.

That's what grandpappy used to tell me.

I would also be interested in suggestions for a background (maybe even background sound). All the backgrounds I have tried I did not like...that is why it is plain white right now.

Plain white is probably best, at least for now. If you have too much going on, it takes a while to load, people get bored and leave without going through the website. Most people find jazzy backgrounds and music more annoying than interesting.
