Finally, I get the system and it has five controllers, but none of them fully work.
Either the button doesn't work or the knob or the joystick itself. Is this a symptom that can be remedied by just cleaning or am I looking at part replacement?
This also happened to me with the Atari 5200.

Typically just a cleaning .. with isopropyl alcohol will clean up the Bally Astrocade controllers .. unless there is a broken wire. These are the best controllers ever made! PM me if you still need help!
Re 5200 controllers .. You have to replace the contact membrane .. and then you have just a crappy controller.
