I have Virtua Fighter 2 and Daytona USA.

I was told that I have some of the best games and to be honest, I do think they deserve that title.

The design of the Saturn alone is so beautiful..so sleek. I get goosebumps when looking at it. :D

Are games still being brewed for it? It's a system that could be pushed to the limits.

I believe it also looks better than anything I've seen on the PS1...when you're talking about the best Saturn games.

As much as I love my Saturn, I'm not sure that it really has the "graphical prowess", of a PS.
Their are some great looking games on the Saturn, but there are easily as many on the Playstation. Probably more. The PS came out quite a while after (Console lifespan time) the Saturn, and had better graphic capabilities right off the hop. I don't think Medal of honor could have been done very well on the Saturn.....

From what I read on a site, only Sega's internal development teams were able to push the Saturn to the max. With a memory expansion or something, it could probably accomodate a game like MoH or a game tailored in the same style. Anything's possible.

The Dreamcast is the next Sega system for me to pick up as I once had one but sold it like the fool I was.

However, until a few months ago, I had never seen a Saturn in person.

I still haven't seen one in person. It is my next hopeful purchase.

I'd LOVE to find one in the open, but I fear I'll have to resort to eBay and the high prices that follow. I feel once I get the Saturn, the rest will be easy.

I want one even more since seeing that cool Boot animation that was posted in my thread.

I plan on getting NiGHTS, Virtua Racing, Virtua Cop, Panzer Dragoon and some others. Is Virtua Cop really that good of a gun game? I've wanted to play Gun games lately, and the NES ones I have just aren't doing it for me. I'd love to try Virtua Cop and see if it's good. I'd also love to find House of the Dead and a DC gun and do the same thing.

I'd like Virtua Racing just so I could compare it to the Genesis version and the 32X version when I get that.

I've never played Dragoon or NiGHTS so I'm looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about.

Sonic R and Sonic Jam are also on my list as is Sonic 3D Blast just to have with my Genesis one. Sad there was never a REAL Sonic game on the Saturn.

*sigh*

When I get one, I'll have to do a bit of shelf rearranging again. The cases are the same size as the Sega CD ones and those take up a LOT of room as it is.

I guess More Games = Less Posters. Oh well. Games rock!

Virtua Cop is only good with a lightgun and as someone mentioned in this thread, there is a such thing that is compatible with the Saturn and another system.

I think it's the PlayStation. I recall seeing an auction that had a gun that could be used on the PS1. But it'd need a special port, wouldn't it?

I have no clue. I forgot about who mentioned the light gun for the Saturn.

I'm not really concerned with adding more Saturn games at this point. I'm quite strapped for space for games so I'm only going to get games that I can enjoy, as opposed to games that I can collect.

You should try to find Warcraft II: the Tides of Time and Alone in the Dark SIB from Ebay

I have several saturns laying around. One of these days I'll stop being lazy and put them up on ebay or something (and I really need to with the space issues I'm having.)

There is at least one lightgun for the system. It's a blue Justifier type gun and it has both saturn and PS1 connectors. I picked one up at a gamestop a while ago.

As for Saturn lightguns. yeah, there is the official blue one that came packaged with Virtua Cop but my favourite is the Scorpion. It's basically a little Walther PPK and (the original model) has connectors for PS1 and Saturn.
It's light, accurate and has a really cool auto reload switch so you don't have to shoot off screen to reload, just keep pulling the trigger.

Now that I think about it, Goodwill has a computer store here and they have several boxed lightguns for PS1 that might also have the saturn connector. I'll have to go take a look sometime this week.

I won a Saturn last night with 10 games. Some are boxed. It was the easiest to win for me so fart. I got outbid on better deals, especially a sweet one with 21 boxed games. But was outbid by a few bucks. And it never even broke reserve which must have been $60+. (Edit, which has since been re-relisted for a third or more time. Still with a reserve. Do these people learn?)

But it does come with Virtua Cop. But no gun. I'll be getting that shortly. Maybe I'll be lucky and find one at GS with both connectors.

It also comes with DOOM (Adding yet another console DOOM to my collection making the total 5 DOOM games.) and Virtua Fighter 2. I'll have to find VF1, Panzer Dragoon and NiGHTS as well as that Bubble Bobble game that I have the PS1 version of. I have one on watch for $15 BIN, but starts at $10 with $5 shipping. Maybe I can luck out. And I see NiGHTS on eBay with controllers all the time. That'll be easy.

I gotta find a physical store nearby that carries this stuff. It's getting harder to find places near me besides GameStop.

A Saturn with 21 games is well worth $60-$100 depending on the games... IE. the sports games aren't worth more than the shipping costs.

Saturn Doom is terrible. :( It's hard to believe that Saturn Doom is so choppy and terrible, especially when you see the awesome ports of Quake and Duke Nukem 3D.

To be perfectly frank,
you'd be better off NOT getting
AITD for the Sega Saturn. It's based on
the second game of the series, has atrocious
frame rate issues, and the puzzles can be
overly difficult and non-sensical. Best to stay away.
There's a reason why the game can be bought for such
a cheap price! :)

Agreed.

I put the game in only a couple of times.

The first time, I had a 3d controller in the left port in 3D mode... the game completely freaked out. It was running at about 2 FPS, like slo-mo mode on an NES or SNES game, and most of the graphics were garbled.
I reset with the controller on the digital setting and found the actual game to be not much better (and less interesting) than the freaked version...

About a year later I tried it again, thinking "it couldn't have been that bad...".. but it was, so it was off to the online auction house in the sky...

Which is why I passed up a different one on there. It was all Sports. Ick.

I know. But my goal is to get every console DOOM, no matter how bad. Quake and Duke are also on my list. :D
