Despite rumours to the contrary, TAF is hanging on -- barely.

Ken MacDonald (k_seumas@sympatico.ca), the last elected TAF president, maintains the TAF repository and has excess equipment for sale. I talked to Ken this evening and he advises that, even though he's too busy himself to revive TAF, he'd like to help anyone who's willing to do so.

James Alexander (james-m-alexander@rogers.com), a resident of Mississauga, advises that he's ready to start an Atari Users' Group, but needs the assistance of a newsletter editor and VP. He has some interesting ideas about group format, and advises that he'll encourage members to "talk about anything Atari-related".

The TAF website can be viewed at: http://www.vex.net/~schrist/taf/

Wow... I thought TAF had disappeared years ago. The last TAF meeting I went to was back in '94 when Howard Carson got me to debut FANSI at the meeting. (I wasn't officially a member 'til then) After that I was relatively active on the TAF BBS and wrote for a few issues of Current Notes before I left the BBS scene altogether and sort of went wholesale PC on the 'net. I guess I just sort of thought TAF withered away over the years. It's good to hear it's still in some form of existence.

I know you know, but for anyone else who may be interested, there's a new (and active) TAF forum at the Classic Gaming Collectors of Canada website (www.cgcc.ca). It looks like TAF may well be revived as a viable club, which is certainly great news for Atari enthusiasts in Southern Ontario. :)
