Hello everyone...I was hopeing some one here could help me with identifing 2 products. 1 of my Atari consoles looks like a 5200 or 7800,you know black with the silver stripe accross it but it is a 2600? This machine is super small..1/4-1/2 the size.I can not find a pic of this anywhere, only the 4-6 buttton machines.Second i have a controler that is like a tube with a 3 pointed star at the top for movement.I have never seen one before? Says"VIDEO COMMAND" on the side?.......

Thanks for the help....Darrell

The small 5200/7800 looking machine is, in all likelihood, an Atari 2600, also nicknamed 2600jr. It was made in the mid-to-late 80's. It should have an on/off button, color/B&W button, select, and reset buttons on the top, and controller ports and difficulty switches on the back.

AtariAge has a seperate page that lists 2600 hardware (although I admit, it's a little hard to find). The small Atari you mention is nicknamed the "2600 Jr". Atari marketed these after the 5200 was released... they're not very rare at all though.

There's also a page of controllers, although there's not really anything there that matches your description. What you describe actually sounds a lot like a Channel F controller (click the link for pictures) actually, but there are so many 3rd party controllers out there, that it's hard to identify specific joysticks (by the way, Channel F joysticks do not detach from the system, so unless you have a frayed wire at the end, this probably isn't what you have).

A Google search reveals that hte Zircon Video Command was a Fairchild controller clone for the VCS.
