Found a complete Namco Museum Vol 4 for $12.99 at one of my favorite local stores. While I was at the counter purchasing it I noticed a complete in box model 1 Sega CD unit sitting on the counter. I asked the guy behind the counter if they had just purchased it and if it was for sale. He hadn't bought it from the customer yet but he opened up the box and said "You don't want this Sega CD"
Why not? I said.
Apparently, they weren't gonna buy it because the metal connector plate had some sort of residue and possible corroding on it. I really only wanted the box anyway, so I asked him if I could have it. He told me who the customer was that brought it in and said I could make a deal with him if I wanted. So I wnt up to the customer and told him that the store wasn't gonna take the Sega CD unit but that I would like to work something out for the system. He said for $5 it was mine and threw in a boxed CD RAM cart too. So for under $20 I got:
Namco Museum Vol 4
Boxed Model 1 Sega CD
Boxed CD RAM cart
and the guy at the store gave me a grocery bag full of NES sleeves for free. Best score I have had in a while. I'm still in the process of cleaning the Sega CD, so I don't know of it works yet. Even if it doesn't I still think I did pretty good.
