Ever notice there are always a ton of New in Box with 3D Controller "NiGHTS"?

I know the game is supposedly good, and I am gonna buy one myself for my new Saturn, but I was curious why they're always on there. You rarely see them used. Maybe in a couple bundles you get a 3D controller with no NiGHTS or a NiGHTS with no controller or both, but a lot you see new boxed ones.

Did they make too many? Are they still making them? Did someone hoard them all when they hit the clearance rack at TRU?

i dont know for sure, but im guessing that the package with the controller cost well over 50 dollars brand new, and therefore didnt sell as many as the game did alone. i could be wrong, but i wasnt into gaming at the time and didnt bother shopping around.

Sega truly overestimated the appeal of this game. When it was first released, the Nights and controller boxed bundle sold extremely well...it was the top selling Saturn game in the US for a few weeks after its release.

I'm guessing Sega expected demand to continue at this fever pitch, so they upped production only to have demand fizzle shortly thereafter. I myself owned one of these boxed bundles back when I still had my Saturn. It was a good game, but nowhere near as good as the press and other casual Saturn gamers make it out to be.

Yeah I noticed it. And I'm glad I did and picked up one not too long ago for about 8 bucks. I guess they're just real common :)

Heh heh, me too. I don't regret selling off all my import Saturn stuff about 3 years ago to fund the PS2, but I did miss some of the old unique games I had. Thank goodness for Ebay.
