2600 Spy Hunter used both, but in an odd way. I have the special little tray for them, but its still odd.

Do you could the keypad games in this, like Star Raiders?

Smash TV on the NES had an option for two controllers. Not sure if the SNES version had it since I never owned it.

The SNES version didn't need two controllers...since they had the four buttons on the pad as well. That's why it's my favorite version of the game :D

And don't forget Raiders of the Last Ark!

Bumper Bash uses two paddles, and is very fun to play for the 2600.

Robotron 2084 and Space Dungeon for the 5200 also required two controllers and are awesome to play using the joystick coupler.

I never play the 7800 version, but I'm pretty sure it also requires 2 controllers.

It allows for both on and two joysticks.. if you wanna play the right way.. you can use 2.

The emulated version on the Saturn uses both controllers as well.

This is a pretty old thread, but I read through it and no one mentioned....

Final Fantasy 2 (IV) on the SNES.

It was not a required play mechanic, but it did allow a friend to hop on the second controller and you could work together during the fights.

I would think "cheats" are sorta excluded from being true two controller play, but I'd still say that, due to the control of the cheat, Mega Man 3 might qualify. Pressing and holding right on the second controller would allow Mega Man to jump ...I dunno.. maybe four or five times his normal jumping height, and he'd be invulnerable to pit falls (and even then, he could take damage in the pits if an enemy flew up vertically [like Mega Man actually Rolled over] which lead to possible invincibility).

MMmm.. parentheses.
