I just picked up a copy of ice hockey on the atari 2600 and it kicks ass. It may be my most favorite game for the 2600...Well at least close, Ill always have a soft spot for my Wizard Video double ender :)

Ice Hockey is great, many hours were spent tripping friends in that game. For some reason, maybe our georgraphic area. hockey games have always been big among my friends and I.

Activision Ice Hockey
NES Blades of Steel
Various EA hockeys for the Genny and the SNES
The EA hockey for all the newer stuff

All of these provided hours of good competition at parties for us. Hell the first thing many of the guys want to play when they see my game room is Ice Hockey :D

A buddy & I always play Ice Hockey when we get together for some classic gaming.

There's something to be said for it's 2-on-2 simplicity, & those rink-length riccochet shots are the BEST!

If you haven't already, try out "Hat Trick" on the Atari 7800.
It's pretty good...measures up to the arcade version rather well considering the hardware!

Yes ice hockey for the 2600 was great. But i think blades of steel for the nes is better. For some reason i like those sports games that dont get old like the modern ones were you buy the game one year and the players shift teams the next year. For the atari ice hockey and nes blades of steel game same players different days for ever.
