GREETINGS! And welcome to the FIRST ANNUAL Stan Awards Player's Choice Award! The award where YOU (not me) decide what is worthy of heaps and heaps of praise from the past year in Atari!

So how does it work? Easy (I hope).

What is the award?
The Player's Choice Award is your chance to vote for ANYTHING Atari over the past year that you feel deserves supreme recognition. This can be ANYTHING Atari related. You can vote for Homebrews, Hacks, Hardware, Prototype releases for any ATARI system, 2600, 5200, Jag, Lynx, computers, etc. As long as you feel it was exceptionally great and it was released between Jan. 1 2003 and Dec. 15 2003, you can vote for it. Make sense?
(in the above the term "released" refers to anything released for public consumption in any form, ROM, cart, hardware, etc. during the listed dates)

So how do I vote?
Each Atariage member gets one vote. To vote for your Player's Choice item, please send me a Private Message with your vote, be sure to include the title of the item you wish to vote for and the name of its creator (if applicable). DO NOT POST YOUR VOTE TO THIS THREAD.
Each member gets only ONE vote, any additional votes you send will void all votes from that username, even the first one, so don't do it.
Once you have voted you may NOT change your vote, so choose wisely.

DEADLINE: The Deadline for ALL voting for the Player's Choice Award is Midnight Jan 1 2004 EST. All votes received after that will be discarded.

What if there is a tie?
Simple, I hold the tie breaking vote in any tie. (they are MY awards after all! :D )

Stan, you are an idiot, none of this makes sense, could you please explain better?
Well, I can try. If something does not make sense or if I have left out VITAL information, please feel free to reply to this thread and I'l address the issue as best I can.

So there you have it, the FIRST ANNUAL Stan Awards Player's Choice Award. What do YOU think deserves big ups from this past year?

Vote early and vote often! :) :) :)

Thanks.

Stan

Heck yeah! If you have a product you are proud of or want to make people aware of, go ahead. What do I care? (although I would provide a link so that its easy for people to find!) Go right ahead!

How about a (not binding) nominee list? There are too many Atari related releases this year to remember them all.

Boy that would take a while! I'll try to put together a list if I have time, but that is quite a tall order. In the meantime, if you have something in mind and want to know if it qualifies, either ask it here or check the AA database for its release date.

Thanks Thomas:)

Links?

Or do you mean the date when it was added to the AA catalog? :?

Thomas, when you say "not binding" do you mean not restricted to the original requirements for the Stan Awards?

I believe he means "not exclusive" list of items available for voting. Right, Thomas?

As for you Thomas, If you look at most of the Homebrews and Hacks in the AA datebase they list release dates. I'm not sure if that works for hardware. You can also search the news items from the past year to see major releases, or search the forums (which is what I will have to do if I compose a list like you have asked for)

:) :) :)

Thanks again!

The Interleaved ChronoColour™ colour mario demo, full-screen-bitmap and recent pornovision VCSVideo™ would all fit into the "released" category, along with the GreetingCart™ made by AtariAge this year. Get your votes in, I need something to cheer me up!

yes, tech counts as much as an actual individual product, as long as it was released for public consumption. It counts as a significant development in the field of Atari. :)

Keep those votes rolling in, and big thanks to Albert for the props on the front page! :) :) :) :) :) :)

UPDATE!

The votes are pouring in! I have several contenders that are really battling it out for dominance! Keep those votes coming and thanks to those that have voted!

To answer a FAQ, yes you CAN vote for your own project/product! There is no shame in it! :) :) :)
