This is what you call TOO much free time.

I am a Castlevania FREAK, and as an early Christmas Present, Aimee helped me round out my NES collection (I was missing Dracula's Curse, long story), which got me in a Castlevania kick, so I started playing the NES trilogy again. I got to Simon's Quest and I remembered attempting a map when I was a kid, but never finishing it. So I decided to right that wrong and finish the job.
After doing a technical screen-by-screen map, I then thought it would be MORE fun to make a quasi-realistic map of the game. The result you see below.
Bear in mind that I am NO artist nor make I any such claim. I'm just a stupid fanatic with WAAAAY too much free time on a Saturday afternoon. :D :D

Enjoy my insanity.

Not bad. I can't remember the last time when I made a map for a game that I was playing. I'm thinking it may have been Super Hydlide on the Sega Genesis and that was ages ago!

Yeah. Sadly enough, it was the very first game I bought after I got my Genesis in the summer of 1990. I wanted a game that would take me a long time to finish as well as one that offered a decent quest. Well, I partially got my wish granted...it certainly DID take a long time to finish thanks to its insane difficulty and ambiguous puzzles....but a decent quest it definitely was not. Good points...decent attempt at a realism (ie: weight system, day/night cycle, necessity to eat meals and sleep regularly, etc)

I kind of re-discovered the game in the summer of 1991 when Game Players Magazine ran a huge "how to" article on the game. that provided me with all the knowledge and hints I would need to finish that bastard of a game once and for all.

Wow, that is a nice map! Certainly a much better job than I could have done! Now I just need to download the ROM and actually play the game...

Thanks peeps! It was a labor of love and I had a LOT of fun. I'm totally into cartography and the like.

I have LOTS of Legend of Zelda Maps and had started an Adventure of Link map long ago. Maybe someday, I'll finish it.... :) :) :)

There was a map that came WITH Simon's Quest??? d'oh. :)

I made a map for the standard adventure that you can load off Adventure Construction Set, but it didn't help me much - I still couldn't solve the game. I even tried to hack it to see what I was missing; still didn't help.
