And it's awesome!

Really cool.

Though most of my games look like first generation PSX games, it's still pretty cool. I've only played a couple of my games. But I can't wait to get NiGHTS and the Panzer Dragoon games.

What other games do I just have to have?

I guess I'd better go buy a memory cart.

Well, I just picked up nights, and I guess I haven't gotten into it yet.. I just have been impressed so far...
However, some games Id seriously suggest are...
Viruta Fighter 2
Daytona... one version supports more than 1 player.. I believe it is SE.
Clockwork knight - its one of my favorite games to just play.. I think it looks great and its really fun.
Pnazer dragoon zwei - its the one I have... I like it.

Thats about all I can think of right now.

at the top of the page is the 5-in-1 memory cart, it will allow you to play imports (including ones that require extra RAM) as well back up your game saves

Plug and play? No internal mod necessary?

Yes.

By the way, what is the expansion slot on the back meant for? Where the battery is?

Funny story. When I got it, the battery was dead.

So assuming, yes, I assumed I had to open it up. I finally got all 5 screws out, lifted off the cover and looked all over for a battery. But the metal playe had me thinking I had to go even DEEPER into it. Fortunately I noticed the battery. IN THE EXPANSION SLOT. Gee.. how was I to know they actually made the battery EASY access? *sigh*

At least I got to see the inside. Glad I didn't kill it.

you only need a mod to play backups, the cart on the link above is indeed plug and play, a must have for any serious saturn player/collector

The cart slot behind the CD door is where the carts go. The expansion slot above the battery is for an MPEG card.

Ah.. I had a feeling when I saw the white Japanese "Video CD" Saturn on Lik-Sang.

If only I had some VCD's, it might be worth it.

Next question, Communication Connector.. That's for system linking, right? Like the PSX and Jaguar do.

Yeah. Not many games use it (surprise surprise). Gungriffon 2 is the only one that springs to mind straight away.

What pad did you get with the Saturn, and which version is it (gray buttons or black, oval butttons)? If you don't have one yet, get the 'Nights' Analogue pad as quickly as you can. It really makes a difference to the 'Saturn Experience'. Welcome to the best console that no-one had :D

The Saturn model is MK-80000A and the controllers are MK-80116.

Saturn buttons are all black. Round two side ones and rectangle eject. The controller buttons are all black with serif font and grey TL and TR buttons. Plus Play, Pause, etc symbols.

The 80116 controllers are the good ones. 80117 is the analog stick.

Is that to say the Analog ones are bad? Or was that just badly worded?

By the way, separate subject change.

My copy of "Croc" is messed up or something. Certain images (Textures) are missing. On the characters, (Mainly Croc himself) there is nothing. Transparent crocodile. On walls and floors, it does the old "DOOM Mirror Effect", example, on the first level. The lava is gone. Mirror city.

I thought about that when typing it, but I didn't care to elaborate. The 80100 is the BAD Saturn controller. The big squared monstrosities.

I assume by the number it came out before the one I have.

What about Croc? Bad copy of the game or known Saturn problem?

Never heard of that. Is the disc damaged in any way? Hold it up to the light. Do any pinholes shine through? If so, the disc is as good as dead. If the reading surface is scratched, you should invest in one of those disc doctor widgets. They aren't too cheap, but they're worth it, even if they save you from having to buy another copy of just one game. Anyway, if there's damage in just the right spot, the game will still work, but textures or other data could be corrupted.

Meh. It's no biggie. It is a little scratched. I'll see what I can do later.

Funny thing is, the guy also accidently sent me Sonic 3D Blast Disc only as well as Mr. Bones with the wrong paper insert. (Spine and back page) The insert is for the game "Steep Slope Sliders, but the manual is correct. Weird. Who cares. The whole bundle was $38 all together. Well worth it. And the almost one month wait. Two of those weeks were just waiting for Western Union BidPay Auction Payments damn MO to arrive at the guys house.. which is in NJ.. Hello? Sending a MO from Eastern PA to NJ.. WHAT THE HELL TOOK SO LONG? Where does BidPay send their MO's from? I will never use BidPay (Auction Payments) again.

Meh, I either use paypal, or walk down to the post office with a money order and mail it myself. Despite the post office's reputation for being spitefully slow, they ship all over in pretty good time.

My Croc did that from time to time as well... it was in perfect condition though. I would just turn the Saturn completely off and then let it boot up again to get rid of the glitching.
