Well no reason you can't! :P It is a little surprising considering how rare some of those games are, would benefit many collector/gamers who can't afford or track down all those games! I think it should run off flash memory! If you build it they will come!

Your favorite one that you like to snuggle with.

I dunno what CPU is getting at...the CV has loads of great games for it. :P j/k

I have heard the term but never really knew what it was. All the computer nerds have their own language. :)

It's all good. :D

Seriously though, I am surprised there isn't a developer flash cart type of device. I mean, 32K linear address space is just an invitation to do such a thing. :ponder:

Damn, I hadn't even thought about that, but that 'wats a top loader' thread was over at Digital Press, too. :P

So why haven't you made one yet, CPUWIZ? Not being sarcastic, either.

Well, the last couple of days was the first time I played around with the address space of the machine and it just seemed a bit odd that nobody did it yet. :)

I'd like to see one, even if it's anything like Videogame Wiz's Atari 5200 USB MaxiCart.

I thought gooddealgames.com had something of that nature . . . Since, AFAIK, Bienvenu and Eduardo are the only developers, they might figure there's no market . . . But, I'm pretty sure there is an SMS one out there and they're not so different guts-wise, so it is possible . . .

I'm just hoping that the CV I just bid on on eBay works . . . Then, if such a device existed, hell, yeah, I'd get one . . .

Theorically CV version should be easier than 2600 version because we won't have to deal with oh about 20 bankswitching schemes. I don't think CV needed any anyway. There is one possible hurdle to getting CVCC out: Telegames. They still own a sizeable number of CV games and they may view the CC as a potional copyright infringement by allowing their copyrighted ROM be exchanged freely.

If anyone does that, it'd have to be underground and getting a conmplete CV ROMs would be a real challenge.

Build a better one. It only requires minimal artistic sense and an elemental understanding of electronics. That sounds like a fun project... Actually creating a gamepad from the board up...

Why bother when with a Y-splitter you can use a Coleco stick as a numeric keypad on one side and a real joystick on the other?

That's (not sure it's Telegames, but someone) what's keeping Sean Kelly (of Vectrex Multicart fame) from selling his Colecovision multicart.

But, a Cuttle Cart type device comes empty, like an emulator.

Just building a CC type device and selling it should be perfectly legal. It can be used for legal roms (homebrews, etc?) and development.

And you might (grey area still) be able to use it to hold the ROMs you own, so you can keep them safer, but still play them...

So, this might actually be a good solution for this type of problem..

Compared to the Atari 5200's, the ColecoVision's are like sweet lemonade, if you get the drift.

Either this or a Redemption CV controller would be an interesting project for someone with the right amount of time and parts.

I still wonder why not much is done with the CV. Opcode Games and Bienvenu have put out some nice homebrews/hacks, right? Correct me if I'm missing out on anyone.

It still would be interesting to see the CV utlilized more just as the 2600 and 5200 have seen renaissances.

You can get one by combining this and this. It will probably be around $200 after shipping but CPUWIZ don't you already have one? Or was this more of a general question.
I'm sure you could build one yourself for a lot cheaper though. :)

Yes, it was more of a general question, I do have a few EPROM emulators. :D
