Ok.. I have a question, but a little background my be in order..
I have been collecting Atari stuff for about 2 years now, I have a 2600 6-switch, 2600A 4-switch, 2600 Vader and a Coleco Gemini.
I also have a few Commodore 64's lying around, this was my first computer and I still use it occasionally, my main C-64 has a hacked kernal Rom with a custom version of Fast-load in it.
I know nothing about programming other than the BASIC that I learned and promptly forgot many years ago and I failed a Think Pascal course in high school.
I have read about the cuttle cart and the superchargers.
Now.. on to the question:
I have a cable for my C-64 which connects to it's serial port and to my PCs printer port, this cable allows me to write C-64 disk images to a C-64 drive using my PC, it also allows me to use my PC as a hard disk for my C-64. I can store cartridge, disk and tape images with this system.
Now.. I have been wondering if I can make a system like this to run ROM images on my 2600 by using a PC as storage medium.
Possibly using a 2600 cart PCB with 16K of RAM and dumping the ROM image from my PC into the RAM on the cart and playing from that..
I doubt the C-64 image program would work for the Atari system.
Is this possible?
If so, how can I do it and could someone help me?
Thanks..
Shawn
P.S. Sorry for the long post.
