Monopoly has been made available to just about every consoles since NES and SMS day. There's also Risk (Genesis) but I don't usually pay much attention to bvoard games. It's usually more fun with the real board because it's easier to get rule variations.

Most computerized board games are pretty dull. But I did enjoy the
old B&W mac version of Risk. The Axis and Allies game that came out
for the PC a few years ago was good because it saved you the trouble
of dealing with all those dice and little plastic pieces. But for the most
part the social aspects of the game get sucked out of them. Monopoly
being the worst. The computer rolls the dice and does all calculations
automatically so all you do is press a button to roll and decide if you want
to buy a property.

Monopoly, Risk and Chess have probably appeared on every system
since NES.

Avon Hill made some 2600 games its possible they are based on their
board games.

There are three videogames released for the Odyssey2 system that incorporated a board game with an on screen video game:

Quest for the Rings
Conquest of the World
Wall Street Fortune Hunt

Quest for the Rings is a very fun addictive game when played against someone.

As for board games made into videogames, Checkers, Chess, Othello, Reversi, Monopoly, Life, and Risk all come to mind.

Do they make any wall street type games? (Something that has to do with managing money, like monoply.)

All three of these games are cool.

Conquest of the World is like Risk but instead of rolling the dice to decide the outcome of the battles, you play some Combat-like games. I wish I had a complete set of this, I'm missing the alliance markers. I should probably try to make something up. Also, I wish I could find someone to play against.

The Great Wall Street Fortune Hunt is a neat stock trading game, but the limitations of the O2 require the player to do a lot of tedious paperwork. I should make up an Excel template to use with it, since this is the only game of the three you can play one player. This is also the only one that I have complete. (I'm missing about 3 or 4 pieces of Quest for the Rings.)

Reptone, you can get a good money managing store type game called Top Shop for PS1. It's very colorful but fun.

Avalon Hill's 2600 games had nothing to do with any of their board games. Their board games were all WAY too complicated for the 2600 to handle.

I have Clue for Genesis.

Also, Mario Party 1,2,3 fit into this category, actually making the board game concept really fun on a console.

well there are a ton of em for the NES, even odd ones like pictionary

now as for genny risk lets put it this way, either i'm the greatest military genius since alexander the great or that game is a push over! i'm a big risk fan, well back in the dorms i was anyways and i used to really dig the Mac version but the genny one was just too easy. take australia & new zealand and move north once your foes have gutted eachother, never fails.

Both the Hero Quest and Space Crusade boardgames were converted to home computers (ST, Amiga, C64, Amstrad, Sinclair) in the early 90's.

For a video game board game that never existed in real life (I don't think), try Anticipation on the NES...That was a very...interesting...game. :ponder: :D
