So I recently picked up a sealed Intellivision II console and I'm debating with myself what to do with it. The box is a little bit thrashed but still tightly sealed.

I never had an Intellivision before and it's the first system I've ever even seen around here so it's new territory to me. I'm really tempted to just keep it and experience the thrill of cracking that sucker open and reveling in the glory of pristine vintage goodness. Realistically though, I don't see myself playing it very much.

I'm tempted to keep it just to have because of my interest in old electronics, but maybe I'd be better off just to sell or trade for a 7800 setup. I keep going back and forth.

I've been checking finished items on ebay for intellivisions but the prices are kind of all over the place and I didn't see any sealed ones either. Is a sealed system that much more desirable than one that is simply CIB or is the difference negligible? If I do decide not to keep it I'm not looking to make a killing on it but I don't want to hose myself in a trade or sale either. Anybody have a clue as to what something like this might be worth?

Sealed will always bring in a higher price.

As for keeping it or getting a 7800, its depends on whether or not you like arcade ports or just home games. INTV's thin ice, Diner, Demon Attack, Atlantis, Beauty & the Beast, Microsurgeon, Vectron, Astrosmash, Night Stalker, and the port of Burgertime are all fantastic, as are the sports titles. And overall it has a greater amount of types of games then the 7800. 7800 games play smoother though, and like I said, great arcade ports. Both can play 2600 games (although the intv2 requires an add-on module) so that shouldn't be too big an issue if you really care about that.

What a GREAT game on the Intellivision. Is there a port on any other system that is better?

Hey I have an Atari 7800 in good shape. I have Pole Postition II, Food Fight, Galaga, and Ms. Pac Man. I also have two controllers and the rf/power plug. I would be willing to trade it for your Intellivision II sealed in the box.

Yup, I agree. I've never owned an Inty ever until last summer. Found a Inty II at a thrift shop. Not boxed, just loose, and a ton of games for it. Most still with boxes, instr. and keypad overlays! Price on games (at thrifts anyway) are usually always low. Mine were like $1 each. Even the boxed ones!

The games are geat as mentioned above. My favorites are Tron Deadly Discs and AD&D. And yes, Burgertime version kicks &#$&!!

I've learned my lesson on vintage gaming. Don't give up or let go any questionable items. I don't mean to sound selfish. But I've left or passed o things and tried to forget about them. Only leaving me a day later thinking and wondering about it, burning in me go to back and get whatever it was I was looking for, only to find it gone and never seeing an opportunity like it ever again.
example? A 4 switch 2600 with like 4 joysticks, paddles, 15-20 games for $30 at a thrift shop. I left it. Went back the next day, gone. DAM!

Granted, I already have a 2600, but a back-up system just incase would be good.

Anyway, enough of the long rambling. I say keep it, enjoy it, play it. Not everybody can say they have a mint boxed systems to often.
