I thought I'd let you guys know about a feature I'm currently writing for my site. It's a detailed examination of the history of Space Invaders, the grandfather of all shooters. The feature isn't finished yet- I have at least two more pages of reviews to go- but so far, I'm pretty happy with it. Let me know what you think of it, and what you think could be improved.

I already posted my comments about this at the DP forums :)

However, one thing I also thought about.. when reviewing the home versions, maybe it would be cool also to just note which ones have the arcade game's signature gameplay elements with them.. i.e. counting (in any form.. for example even the Entex handheld "Space Invader" has counting), wall of death, rainbow, etc. Just a mention would do of course. :)

Great feature!
May I post a link to it on my website?

By the way, the MSX computers weren't really developed by M$ but instead it was a creation of ASCII Corp, a Japanese company. In that time ASCII was the official M$ representative in Japan, so probably they used the brand which was best recognizable, though the firmware was indead copyrighted by M$. The ASCII deal with M$ ended around 85, so any MSX advertisement after it will say © ASCII Corp.

Also, I think SEGA developed the SG1000 version of SI (they say that in the opening screen).

Go for it, Ed!
Oh, and by the way, thanks for the additional information... I'm sure it'll come in handy later.
