I saw a sad thing today. Went into an arcade I never had been into today
and saw a Star Wars cab that had been hacked into Police Trainer
And it was one of the ugliest home made jobs I've seen.

That sort of behaviour is really sad. It blackens my heart...

A StarWars cab... Of all things available to hack, they hack a StarWars cab.

At the last auction I went to they had a sit down Star Wars cabinet that had been converted into a Final Lap 3. All they had done was replace the monitor, PCB, and exchanged the yoke for a steering wheel. Everything else, including all the artwork, was still Star Wars. I seriously considered buying it to convert back, but to be honest I was there by myself and just didn't feel like moving a sit down cab by myself.

Why would they do that how authful please buy it and convert it back into Star Wars or at least The Empire Strikes Back, then take the Boards for Police Trainer and put them into a empty or homemade Cab. and there you go 2 arcade games for you.

Heh, fitting words from Duke Nukem :D

If I could I would try to buy it. The side panel art looked intact on the
one side that was visible. But I don't have the money let alone a
work shop to fix it up.

You want to talk about sad sights, around 1984 or so I was driving with a group from church, and we drove past an area where people had illegally dumped a bunch of junk. There was a gutted Tempest arcade game without a monitor or back on it, just sitting by the side of the road. The machine was hollowed out and thrown away.

And you didn't stop, pick that thing up and place it on top of your car?

Come on! ;)

Not too long ago I was in Arizona and I remember driving by a junk yard and on the top of a hill of stuff was three arcade games standing, facing the road in all their glory. They were probably just standard JAMMA cabs, but they looked so lonely up there...

They also looked complete
