I'm really looking for a cool pinball game. Something like Pinball Jam on the Lynx. I had KISS Pinball and it sucked pretty bad. Anyways, anybody know of any? Thanks!

I recommend Pinball Construction Set. It's not a real "authentic" simulation compared to something like Visual Pinball, but you'll have so much fun designing your own tables that it won't matter (especially since a table can be created in less than an hour...try that with VPB!)

This sounds right up my alley. Did it come out for any systems, or is it a PC game? My favorite pinball sim is Pro Pinball: Fantastic Journey for PSX. I'm highly addicted to that one. Midnight Magic for the Atari 8bit computers and 2600 is a lot of fun as is Bumper Bash for the 2600. |

Pinball Dreams, Pinball Fantasies, and Pinball Illusions are all very good, although they'll probably seem a little dated by today's standards.
There's a Dreamcast game called Pro Pinball Trilogy that is extremely well done. The tables look photorealistic (although they're not done in 3D), and the physics are almost perfect. I don't know if this game was ever released in North America though, I found it on the newsgroups, and hadn't heard of it anywhere else. --Zero |

Yup...at first. Bill Budge designed Raster Blaster on the AppleII using some of the tools that he made...which would end up in PCS. This spawned the AppleII version of PCS, and then he ported it to Atari800 and Macintosh. C64 and PC versions followed (which were not ported by Budge himself). And he rewrote the game to create Virtual Pinball on the Genny.

I do recall it receiving rave reviews at the time. I can still remember seeing the PCS cut-outs in mall store windows. And it seemed like it kicked off a "construction set" period.
I remember having had an Adventure construction set. And a similar golf game. Ahhh but back to pinball. You would think they COULD release an extremely great pinball constuction set these days. Pinball Construction Set was awesome, but has dated visuals these days. Seems to me you could create a game with the exact same features with outstanding quality graphics now. Im not a HUGE pinball fan, I wouldn't buy just a set pinball game (Like Kiss) but one like that where you could creat your own field and background...Hell yeah. Just think..... Bikini Babe Pinball |

Another great one was the Music Construction Set. here's the updated version freeware.. http://www.randydavis.com/vp go here for the complete details and help.. http://www.vpforums.com This program w/ VPinMAME (cousin of MAME) allows emulation of modern pinballs as well as the old electro-mechanical machines.. follow the direction located at VPForums. |
