I've been tempted to buy one of these but I read that they're super unreliable and prone to starting themselves on fire. Has anyone ever come up with a solution to make these monitors reliable? Are these for tech-heads only who want to deal with the repairs?

Hey I actually sat in one of those... Star Trek. I bombed on my first try though.

Last I saw it, it was at a Chuck E Cheese in Ann Arbor and that giant pink castle has been turned into an auto shop about 15 years ago. Dunno what that building is now.

The Electrohome monitors are very unreliable, and they are prone to fires. Spare parts are a beast to find, I sold a complete but dead monitor to one for like 150.

I suppose its however passionate you are about the game. I know folks that trash them, and I know others that bow to them. All in what you like. Yes, they are headaches, but aren't most of the things you like?
