While I'm not terribly interested in this (I already have all of those games on the REAL system), I am optimistic that it is a step in the right direction and that maybe someday we will see a re-release of an actual 2600 with cart slot and maybe some multi-carts or even just some games!

I hope they use my Saboteur manual in the documentation. I was really happy with that :)

That's why they won't use his Saboteur manual, because they would HAVE to pay for it.

Again, I suspect this will be the last classic Atari release from Jakks.

Jakks? I thought the Flashback was an Atari exclusive. Not once have I seen it mentioned that there is an association with Jakks here. Looks like totally Atari.

I'm thinking it's probably something just like a Jakks console. Only in a big space wasting package. :|

This from the same guy who less than a week ago said there was no way in hell a product like this would ever be released in the first place? Your predictions are on par with Criswell's. :P

Darnit, I wish they were Atari 2600 joysticks.

I also hope there is a save game feature....and 20 games is pretty lame. They should have popped in at least the entire Atari catalog of games.

Oh well, better than nothing...I'll still pick one up, hopefully the emulation is perfect.

I'm not sure how you figure that.... legally speaking no they wouldn't. At least they could certainly get away with it if they really wanted to. My guess is the author would have been more than willing to contribute the text for use in the Atari console if given that chance.

Number one, its NOT from Jakks. Where did you get that idea from?

Number two..... oh screw number two thru number eleventeen. This is getting pointless.

Well...hopefully better than the crappy Jakks 10-in-1 Atari joystick.

Actually, if the emulation is THAT bad, I'm NOT getting one.

I see this as a corporate ploy to go after emulation...nothing more.

They killed emulation! Those bastards! :ponder:

Ever hear of copyright law? If you write the words, you own them. You can give them away or sell them, but no one can take them from you.

The Jakks hardware doesn't seem to be able to do proper 2600 sounds.

Even the unit that Digital Eclipse did didn't have accurate sounds.
