I just got my copy of Qb yesterday and I couldn't believe I had cart number 4.

I also ordered Gunfight, Jammed! (does that make me number 8 Thomas?), Oystron, and SCSIcide.

What's going on? I would have thought more people would have ordered they games.

Is mostly everyone buying up the old titles and just by passing the homebrewed market?

what is Qb anyway? is that a abbreviation or the whole titles name?

i would get a homebrew game if the game appealed to me and had a sweet label like this one
http://www.atariage....onParlee_4.html

i would get this game even if i didnt like the game just for the label as scanners (the guy on the right of the label) is one of my all time favorite movies

Randy told me about 9 sales, so this number might be correct.

The sales a very dependend on the marketing of the homebrew carts and their collectors value.

If you do some more advertising than it did (I've learned my lesson ), you can sell a lot more carts, just because a lot of collectors don't know much about homebrews.

Thanks for making such an awesome game, Thomas! I've been trying it on the Cuttle Cart lately, and plan to buy a hard copy soon just to show support.

Question: I've just completed the composite mod faq, and am trying to tweak the color potentometer (sp?) to look correct. What is the correct color for the Thrust title screen? I've got pink, although I'm not sure that's right.

May be you are using the wrong palette. You can switch between PAL and NTSC using the right difficulty switch.

The score numbers should be blue, the THRUST logo red and my name green.

That must be why a lot of homebrewers shoot for conventions like the PhilliClassic and the GCE

Keep in mind that 100 copies of Qb were sold at PhillyClassic, and that there are I think 100 people on the list of the super deluxe (Ok, I can't recall the name) version as well. This might explain why Hoser has moved so few copies.

My copy of Qb from Hozer was cart #1,since I ordered it a few months ago.I am also on the waiting list for the Deluxe Edition, just because I think it's cool that there are people that can make these Homebrews out there--and the only way that is going to continue is to buy these games..I also second what Chad wrote.

I tweaked the 2600 to Pitfall and it looked OK, but now some games are off for sure (Double Dunk, Thrust) while others appear to be on color. I may drill a hole tonight and stick a makeshift knob into the pot...BTW, Chad: I recently purchased a Cuttle Cart from you. It is the wisest 100 bucks I have spent in a long time. Thanks! How many do you have left, BTW...must leave work ...

I saw Qb at Philly. At the time I had no 2600 and was so much into my recently refound 5200 that I passed. I played a few levels, took a little while to 'get it'. I'd love to play the Atari 8bit original version too! Never did -- I assume it'll play on Atariwin800? never tried (is the rom out there?)

I still haven't picked up a 2600 yet. I wish I'd have bought Qb; if hozer is selling it, I'll no doubt order one over the winter. Gotta get a 2600. The local flea mkt lady sells 'em for $40 which is too high to me.

But once I get my 2600 (I think I'd rather buy a 7800 since it plays both systems games), I want to buy some of the 2600 homebrews too.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I love hearing stuff like that. I'm glad you like the cart.

As for the remaining stock, I have four left plus a few that never worked that I might attempt to fix at some point in the future.

Only 50 copies were sold at PhillyClassic. Yes, there are 100 preorders for the special edition, but it is by no means certain that I will produce 100 copies. Hopefully. The special edition is a rewrite, by the way, so the game looks visually much prettier.

Finally, Hozer has sold so few because I had asked Randy not to sell Qb until I gave the OK. I did that only a month or two back.

As for people not buying copies, I have always encouraged people to download and play on emulator, or burn their own ROMs. But if you want the real thing, then the purchase of a cartridge from Hozer does assist me greatly.

Cheers
A

Now you've got my waiting with anticipation just to see what you've come up with

Hmmm...I wonder if this is what you and Manuel were chatting about. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I plan to go on a homebrew frenzy after the holidays have passed and I have more available cash. Qb is definitely on my list!

On the soft-of-off-topic-topic of the Cuttle Cart: what bankswitching format should I use to get Gunfight to run? Using auto detect yields a garbled screen everytime.

Back to the topic, soft-of: I'd really like to see a 2600 Alarm Clock. One could mod the 2600 Video Time Clock on Hozer. You'd have a customer for sure, here!

If I remember correctly Manuel put "hack protection" in his code. This "hack protection" yeilds the code unusable on a Cuttle Cart.

I thought he released another version that could be played on the Cuttle Cart but I'm not sure.

I'm not sure, if Manuel added CC-protection into his final code. But you sure can get a CC-protection free earlier version, if you browse the Stella-Mainling-List archive.

Or try the game on an emulator, and if you like it, buy the cart to support us homebrewers

Huh...someone's trying to influence me on choosing the winning-label of the Mental Kombat Label Contest...

I actually don't know the guy on the label and therefore I may not share your opinion about the label.

heh simon i was'nt trying to influence you at all , but its kind of like people who buy the 2600 Aliens Game cause they love and collect anything to do with the movie series even if they dont have a 2600 to play the game on

Of course, I was planning on doing that anyway . This brings the list of games that don't function on the Cuttle Cart to three: Pitfall II, Miner 2049 and Gunfight. I started another thread on this, but wanted to see if anyone here didn't have any more to list...
